Post by: Cozzy on January 22, 2007, 08:05:33 AM
I have search around for a service manual..... Recently I fond a set of CD service manual on the ebay, which is reasonalbely cheap when you compare with the paper version. I have no idea about who publish it.

Does anyone have any idea about who publish that CD version of service manual? And should I give it a good?

Support the site and buy one from the main page of GSTwin

The CD is just a pirated version of the factory manual, and the clymers is more usefull for DIY'ers

The likely reason for it being cheaper is because it's likely pirated, and you'll find that the majority here don't support the pirates.

No substitute for a paper manual. you cannot look at the damn thing in the driveway or garage for the hours you are likely to spend working on the bike.
Further, them manuals are like scanned in copies of the actual manual. POS IMHO. However if you bought the GS factory manual scanned in high res, and printed it in a high res printer you may have a useable manual. That's a lot of if's though.
Cool.

though I tend to prefer paper manuals, I have been using my older PIII laptop for CD book version of teh VW/Audi Manuals and I tell you what .. you get used to working on it... Search engine on a pdf is much faster than using my fingers on paper...

I think Ill buy a clymer and PDF it for personal use.... ;)
