Title: cheap insurance

alright so everyone has probably seen this post alot but ive searched around and I found good insurance for other states just not california can anyone recommend some good cheap insurance to cover my bike minimally in california.

I'm with Country Insurance. Average rates for cars, but their motorcycle rates are unbelievable.

Also check out Dairyland (or any division of Sentry County Mutual).

Definitely check this one out.  When I switched to them mine went down approx 20%.  Also, I believe that they are running a contest to win a buell right now and the only requirement to enter is a quote from them.

I was with Geico, but then I got a policy through State Farm, and my insurance payments were cut in half. State Farm gives great rates to those who have other policies with them, and they base their rates on CC's.  :thumb:

State farm will not insure you if you do not have another policy with them. You can't just insure a bike, you have to insure a car or a home or something else as well. To them, bikes are not transportation, but toys.

that may depend on your state.  I had dairyland, and payed 150, switched to stae farm an now pay 46.  an thats the ony policy i have thru them.  if they do happen to only offer you ins if you have more then 1 policy, you could add a simple life insurance policy.  I do that with my car insurance an it actually saves me $3 a month.  so im gettin paid to have a 100k policy, pretty sweet if you ask me :)

My bike is all I have insured with State Farm. My car's still with Geico.

WTF. Stupid State Farm in Texas. I went down to their office to get a quote (since that is the only way) and they flat out told me they wouldn't insure me without another policy on file.

I guess they don't want your money. They're forgetting that you'll eventually own a house, need life/disability insurance, need an umbrella policy, and want to insure that Ferrari. Won't they be sorry THEN!?  :flipoff: :icon_mrgreen:

i think that statefarm uses your age against you.  When i was checking rates i was told that i would have to have had a policy (non-moto) with them for a year before i would be able to insure my moto with them.  That was also right when i got my bike (2yrs or more ago).  I have insurance through progressive and they are pretty cheap for me.  Once i get married, t-minus 3 months,  i am going to shop around again for better rates.
