Title: earrings and motorcycle helmets
Post by: pingpong on January 25, 2007, 03:52:18 PM
For all those that wear a full-faced helmet and have stud earrings, is there a way to take off the helmet without snagging onto them? I can put them on fine, but when I'm taking off my helmet they tend to snag and so I have to be super careful. Anyone got tips?

I have an eyebrow stud and a tragus piercing. I just twist the helmet slightly away from my piercing to avoid snagging.

Switch to captive-bead earings.   :thumb:

I only wear hoops, and I'm pretty darned careful with those. I'd probably stab myself badly with posts....  :o

I have two piercings in each ear, one for posts and one for hoops....but I'll never forget the lesson I learned while I was wearing posts when I went on the Corkscrew rollercoaster at Knotts Berry Farm when I was a teenager. :cookoo: I SWEAR that those posts put holes in the sides of my head....OUCH!!!!! Now I opt for not putting holes in my head!

My earrings have no pokey parts...
They never get snagged on anything...
And they don't come out without pliers...

I'm not sure if that last one is good or bad though.  :icon_confused:

A man goes into the Doctor's Office and tells the Doctor, "It hurts when I do this..."
The Doctor replies, "Don't do that."

Earrings are not tactical...

neither are all those dangly click-straps that hang off my messenger bag and bang on the tank and get caught between the seat and the bike. It has costed me the element of surprise on more than one occasion.  :nono:
