I saw that on the news this morning.  They said that some other city had installed one a few years back, but had problems with it dropping cars!  A Cadillac fell 6 stories or something crazy. :o

walked by it today, it looks really cool. I talked to a guy who was walking out and he said he loves it because in most NYC garages, you have to deal with the grumbly non-english speaking guys taking 15 minutes to get his car out.
