So this lady in a Jeep Grand Cherokee tried to come into my lane on a two lane heading west tonight on GA21. She just barely clipped me while talking on her phone, enough to force me into a slide (the alternative was hitting a mack truck in oncoming traffic). The worst part is she kept going, no plate, one witness stopped to help me out (another biker driving his corolla). The right lower fairing, the headlight fairing, and the engine cover got rashed up and so did my brand new Jardine RT One Can.
Already priced everything from Oneida Suzuki and its gonna cost me about 330 to get her fixed back up again, no biggie such is life, but my Can is all rashed up and I don't like that, any alternative????? Can it be repaired? its shiny aluminum. If it can't be repaired where can I get another can that will mate up to the Jardine headers?
Ideas????? Anyone?????
Cheers,
Howie
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you just get a new Jardine slip-on to replace your can.
Ehhh I hate SUV owners with cell phones. :flipoff: Sorry about your bike.
If the can is still functional I will buy it off you, I need a exhaust for my race bike for cheap.
Alternalty, you may be able to contact Jardine and get just the slip on portion and the can.
(Damn I shouldn't have told you....j/k)
People suck, I'm sorry to hear about that. Are you ok? How fast was it? How did your gear hold up?
Sorry to hear that. I hope some big truck will come to her lane too, forcing her into oncoming traffic, so she knows the feeling.
Anyways get yourself some loud after market horns. They really help if you can signal them fast enough. Before i installed mine, my horn was completely ignored. The drivers continued their way into my lane and then thinking what was that noise (me beeping stock horn)? A have installed dual horns that are actually an upgrade to a car. They fit nicely and sound mean. Now naughty "no-look" lane swithcers jump back to their lane thinking that a big van will smash into their side. A moment later little GS passes and me showing :cookoo:
I found a replacement can for like $200, my can is completely functional, and I actually sanded most of the rash out last night so now it has a brushed appearance. Anyhow, as soon as I get back to work (currently unemployed) I'm buying a new can (will be working again within the next 2 weeks) So if you wan't the can it's yours, PM me.
As far as gear my wife bought me a billabong leather jacket last year that held up, and so did the leather gloves, all in all a scrape on the knee at about 45mph isn't bad. Just some body work everything else on the bike is perfect.
Cheers,
Howie
