For those that have or have seen the factory chin fairing mounts....are they all the same or are they specific for the mounting point?

I always thought of getting the cheap $70 +/- one from JC Whitney. What do you think of that one on the GS?

I finally got a factory chin fairing but it has only 1 bracket, so I needed to know if I had to make different sizes. Glad I can use it as a pattern for them all.
And yes, I will be pulling a mold from it. ;)
Gee D, if I knew you wanted to pull a mold, I've had an OEM chin for months now. It needs some filler/finishing (bottom scratches/scrapes).
Glad you got a bracket. I've got one also. It came on the donor GS from the boneyard.
The stupid things are $45 each, list. I doubt there are any in stock on this planet.
Thanks but after pulling a mold for a fender (03 SV), I had factory paint pull off with the mold. Luckily it was my fender. After that, I decided to only make molds from parts I own.
For some reason, I thought that you needed 1 bracket.
Now to figure out a cost effective way to fabricate more.

The tough part is the flanged washer on the end of the spacer tube. They must use an alignment rod to hold the tube and washer/flange in place prior to putting the weld bead on it.
Yep, I need 3 more to mount it.
Well, I really need to finish my coursework at the University Center, clean out my garage, do some home improvement projects, sell more stuff on ebay, and then.....I would need 3 brackets. :laugh:

If you want to make an extra set and sell them let me know, although I realize it might to time consuming to do. I can always reweld the ones I have broken. They fatigue fail.
