You need to rejet.  The GS is lean straight off the show room floor.  Do a search for "rejet" and "rejet matrix", and find out what jet sizes to buy for 01+ carbs.   The jet sizes you purchase will be dependent upon what intake and exhaust set up you have.  Here are a few things you should know:

1.  Do not buy a Dyno jet kit.  Big waste of money.
2.  Do not take the bike to the dealer for the rejet.  It is very easy to do, and you need to learn how its done.
3.  Buy individual jets from the dealer or Sudco.  I pay about $5 per jet.  Some dealers let you swap old jets for free.

$5 or more for jets and you're getting gyp'ed.  You should only have to spend $2~3...but even then, for four jets, you're out very little in comparison to the kit prices...just stupid.

I think 135 mains, and maybe a shim on the needle, are all you really need for that, but it's been a bit since I was immersed in the numbers.  Best to do the modifications and then see how the bike runs, then adjust accordingly.

I might be wrong, but I think Alpha had that exact same setup & it ran great w/ the jets he chose.

avoid getting the kits, but I heard right after I bought my jets that Sudco now makes you buy them in sets or 4, rather than 2. That can get really expensive. You should look for them somewhere else.

oh geez...

Alphafire X5. you could also search and his jet sizes will come up somewhere, as well as the sizes you should get once you install the Jardine...
