I am attempting a Stage 3 on the 34 mm carbs. It rips balls until around 110-115 MPH then it seems like it starves. There are light hesitations like before you run out of gas. It does this even at half throttle holding 8000 RPMs in 6th gear at around 90 MPH after it starves. When I get down to slower speeds in lower gears it rips up to 11,500 with no problem and pulls hard all the way. Do I need bigger main jets, or better fuel flow to the carbs?
Bigger mains...1-2 sizes.
Cool.
Srinath.
The stock mains are 150 right? So what do you think I should go to?
Okay, stock mains are 127.5. They weren't the problem. I wanted to see if the petcock was starving the carbs, so I ran the fuel line straight from the PRIME outlet on the tank to the inlet on the carbs. Whoa damn what a difference. 110 MPH uphill and still pulling. No stuttering anymore. I'll run it like this for a little while and see if it's lean, but it doesn't feel like it. The damn thing pulls little wheelies when I power-shift it now. I hope the bowls don't stick before I get a high-flow pet-chicken or it's flood city!

Stock is 127.5.
150 is where I ended up with K&N filters and an exhaust.
You may want to try going up or down one size ( 152.5 or a 147.5.) Engines actually produce the most power when they are a close to too lean and ready to hand-grenade. With two-strokes its kind of "it was running stronger than ever just before it siezed"
I have very small needle jets.
