Sounds....like.....maybe.....poor stunting form? ;)
Coulda knocked the rear wheel adjusters out of whack, look at them and make sure the adjustment marks are the same on each side.
Could be a tentacle dragging the ground...
Sounds like you might have been bitten by a squid. It sometimes happens while sleeping or doing some common mundane tasks. The squids mouth is not very big, so most times you don't even feel the bite. Sounds to me like you got a large amount of squid venom in you. You should so see a doctor soon.
haha i'm not a squid, do you stunt?
I show off my mad skillz every time I ride. If I ain't hoistin' a phat one, I'm posin' at the local bux in my matching gear. I just hate it when I have an off day and my mad skillz feel more wimpy than mad. :icon_lol: :icon_mrgreen:

I pop my front end up, but I can't ride it out on my GS. I put a 15t on a couple days ago and it made the front end come up much easier.
really? where can i get a 15t sprocket? and how much are they? also if you want to make it come up a lot easier stand on the back pegs, bounce the front with arms and legs the when its decompressing on the forks give it gas it will come up really easy, it was scary thinkin about doing it but once i did it it was nothin, and i cant really ride them, cause i havent tried it on a long stretch of rode where there are no cars or a big parking lot. and also the tire on our gs's are small in diameter (thin) so its harder to balance. but i do stoppies too, cant really ride them out but i can get it up there.
if you REALLY want wheelie power, buy a 14t sprocket from sprocket specialists.. should run you about $15 plus shipping. Stoppies are not going to be easy to ride out on the GS with its wimpy forks and single disc/caliper.
If he gets the 14t, I call dibs on the gauges, the grab bar, and the grab rail mounts (if it's an '01+).
I got mine from the dealer for $15. You can order them online too.
I call dibs on the engine. Please put some case guards on so the engine wont be all rashed up when I get it.
lol what are yall talkin about gettin dibs on parts on my bike? what yall tryin to say i'm gonna wreck it?

Is this like "doctor, my arms hurts when I do this"?

they go all the way down to a 12T in the front. my suggestion is a 15T in the front and a 45T in the rear. they are very cheep to buy as well. now if you go with a 45T in the rear you must get a longer chain.
so what size sprockets you guys reccomend?

a combo of 15t in the from and a 45t in the rear and purchase a longer change. they even sell kits on bike bandit. I am very happy with the JT sprockets on my bike. I have a 15T installed and a 45t lying around because I dont want to kill my top end but so much. when I buy a newer bike ill put the 45t on the bike. it is a super easy Mod.
The fewer teeth in the front, the easier it is to get the front end up because of change in gear ratio.
What's the stock rear, 39? I'll assume 39.
16/39= 0.41
15/39= 0.38
14/39= 0.36
13/39= 0.33
12/39= 0.31
11/39= 0.28
10/39= 0.26
9/39= 0.23
8/39= 0.21
7/39= 0.18
6/39= 0.15
5/39= 0.56
4/39= 0.1
3/39= 0.08
2/39= 0.05
1/39= 0.03
0/39= 0
Obviously, zero teeth is better on the front.

stock front is 16t stock rear is 39T .
larger in the rear does the same as smaller in the front. and I beleive I heard that the smaller the front sprocket the more stress on it? someone here told me that at one point in time.
Do, go with a 14t in the front and a 49t rear, you'll be able to do 4th gear wheelies! The ladies only want you if you can git er up in 4th! Ask Pandy she'll confirm it.
Also check and see if you've got sucker markers on your back....and please, I beg you don't get a bigger bike for like year!
Oh yeah, dibs on the seat!
What you need my friend, is a coon skin hat....

Dudes, you guys (and girls) are like, soo stylin'!
I've been working on this totally rad no handed stoppie! Its gnarly!
Well as for the problem of drifting to the left or right when in a wheely, id say is because your leaning or putting weight to one side when pulling it up. Concentrate on staying centered, no matter how many times you wheely you can get in a bad habit of coming up crooked. Concentrate on staying centered and pulling evenly with your arms. OR your wheel allignment is out. If you cant mentally fix the problem than check your allignment.
I dont know about everyone else but I have an 03' Naked and have no problem pulling it up in first and riding a wheely out with stock gearing. You can put whatever gearing and mods on a bike but it doesnt get you to the balance point and keep you there. That is up to you, and if you can do that than you should be fine with a stock GS. Remeber just because it doesnt come up in 4th doesnt mean you cant shift to 4th while up. My YZ450F can come up in any gear with a monkey riding it ( I believe this would be the same with a geared up GS). It takes riding ability to take it from 1st to 4th.
Or you could buy a crotch rocket and pull it up in 3rd..... but if your used to a GS you might need to change your pants when you drop the front wheel down at 200KPH +
:dunno_white:

The entrance to my apartment complex is a driveway, and towards the end it has a little hump in it. Since the short driveway leads to an empty lot with no cars or people around, I pop the front up a little in second gear. Except this one time, where I thought I was in second gear, but I was really in first. I nearly shat myself.

Aside from the near racing stripe in my underwear, it was freakin' sweet. Just a little higher than I am comfortable with.
I have the benefit of having many open lots and empty roads to play around on.
i play in empty lots and and opens roads all the time just no bike but i pretend i hold my hand out in front of me and go put put put and people look at me like im crazy so i do this :flipoff: then i go put put put off into the sunset until my bike  runs out of gas then i huff huff hufff all the way home
just out of curiosity, is this a slipping-the-clutch stock GS wheelie in first gear, or a roll-on throttle wheelie in first?
rolling the throttle, bouncing the front suspension down and rolling on the throttle. and screw all you guys who are jealous because yall cant stunt :flipoff: ;) lol just messin
i can stunt let me see you fly over your bars and land on yourback and roll right on your feet without laying on the ground for a second did i mention i was going about 30mph when i did this stunt had no one to help me up or my poor little bike so hah i bet you cant fly like me :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: i call it the superman
p.s just be carefull when doing stunt no one wants to see you get hurt and please where your gear
Mach1.. I did the same.. but at 60mph, on a borrowed bike. I call it the "I'm retarded, don't borrow a friend's bike and then wreck it"

Well, maybe you can pick up a salvage title 1100 for a track bike soon.

Eh, for a track bike I would rather go smaller.
Now for a drag bike...
haha, i just think it's funny all you people say less teeth in front, my mentor said more... but he goes fast. not fast from the line, but very very very high numbers fast and taught me to ride like him. Now, i can't do the high numbers with my stock gs, but i have the bad habit of still riding like him in the twisties...
id rather go drag not circut or whatever you call it drag is has more of a rush for me :icon_twisted: and im looking at getting a dirt bike soon
ya it be fun to drag and circuit race i think. i'm wantin to get an 06 or 07 gixxer 750
hmmm... wasn't there a point to all this rubbish? .... OH YEA!
check your sprocket-side chain adjustor. Wheelies have a tendency to put so much stress on the adjustor that the little metal plate on the end of the swingarm will be bent into the swingarm. That may be why the first few wheelies were fine, then you started drifting.
if this is the case: hammer the metal plate flat, hammer in the ends of the swingarm slightly to help prevent the plate from folding in, re-aligh the rear wheel, and then make sure your axle is torqued properly.
If that plate bends once it will bend again if you do not tap in the end of the swingarm, even when that axle is torqued properly. I got to a point where I would re-align the rear wheel, go for a 2 minute test ride up my street, & the thing would still come out of alignment. Since I did the above steps I have had no problems at all.
ya when i first got the bike (around july) a started trying to clutch the wheelies and it ended up bending that adjuster plate and my chain ended up falling off, luckily i was just a couple of blocks from my house haha :icon_rolleyes:
the only problem i've ever had with wheelies is a loose chain, but i guess thats with any bike.
