I change oil at 2-3K intervals, change plugs every 6k miles, and check valves at approx every 8k miles.

When I ran Mobil 1 synthetic in the 97 GS, I changed oil and filter at 3k miles and now with dino juice I change oil at 2k intervals and filter every other oil change.

Plug changes are recommended at 8k intervals but I had a plug cutting out at 7k miles on the 97 GS early on so I've just changed them at 6k intervals since.  Plugs are cheap and easy to change on naked GS's.

Valve adjustments at 8k miles have worked out OK for me but I've had an exhaust valve get tight a couple times at those intervals.  The  intake valves were never shimmed in 80k miles on the 97 GS.  I changed one intake valve shim on the 02 GS since it was on the loose side.  The exhaust valves get tight as the valves recede into the seats and were shimmed many times to get adequate clearance.

I had notes scribbled all over a sheet of paper keeping a record of the valve shimming so I recently typed it up to make it easier to see the trends, we've had a lot of nasty winter weather this year.

I filed it away with my infamous tire log.   :thumb:

Here's a complete list (http://www.gstwin.com/maintenance_info.htm) of what needs to be done and checked, with intervals according to Suzuki.  But be sure to listen to Jack, he seems to know a thing or two about this bike after 1XX,XXX miles on 'em
