Title: GS500 Exhaust Options
Post by: TobyR on February 22, 2007, 08:44:58 AM
Hi,

I fancy giving my 95 UK Spec (Clipons) GS a meatier sound.

I've read a lot about the R6 exhaust and link pipe mod.

But someone also mentioned I can buy a slipon can? Is that the same because it sounds slightly easier! What size can would I need as well?

Thanks very much!

You can do any type of exhaust you want, it really isn't rocket science.

Most bikes have larger mufflers than the GS needs, so you can pretty much get any sportbike pipe new or used, and have a muffler shop weld it to your system. You may need to have a length of pipe bent for this but that shouldn't cost you much more, plenty of exhust plces will do this for cheap. A shop did mine for $20 it just depends on how much time it takes.
