Unfortunately for the squid it was a one way trip. They usually find these things washed up on a beach dead. There are so many predators in the sea, I can imagine a few Great Whites would make short work of this fellow once bitten in the right places.

Captain Nemo wouldn't be surprised. He fought one (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/95/20000_squid_Nautilus_door.jpg/250px-20000_squid_Nautilus_door.jpg) off his submarine years ago. ;)
