Title: Hard luggage racks?
Post by: sharpe on February 27, 2007, 10:53:38 PM
Has anyone bought / built / designed hard luggage racks of any kind for the GS500?  I'd like to be able to mount hard, locking cases that I don't have to remove every time I park it like I do with the soft ones.  I'm thinking specifically of saddlebag types, rather than the tail bag.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kerry had the Five Stars racks on his GS but they are now special order and quite expensive; might be worth a call to Twisted Throttle to check out though, for side and top Givi cases. Givi offers top case rack only.

The Krauser racks for side bags are more reasonable but fit the Krauser cases, also available from TT.

I have my Givi top case on a standard Suzuki rack on the 02 GS, but it required some additional bracing.

Made my own top rack for the 97 GS.

I like the SW-Motec top case rack for the GS and would use it now if I needed another, also from TT.
