I've ridden my cousin's vespa a few times. I must admit that scooters are really great things. They are perfect for commuting... the thing has a helmet box which is excellent. It feels like i'm riding a bicycle every time I take it out. My gs500 feels huge after riding that thing.... I even got an unprovoked middle finger from a harley rider on it :)
Supercharged scooter? boggle :?
Just how much hp is that thing packing? It weighs 130 kg (286 lbs)
Brings me nightmares of scooter punks upgrading from ancient old Vespas!
I rode a Lambretta LI 197 two-stroke the best part of 40 years ago, it drank fuel but it was entertaining. The thing about the modern scooter is that as soon as you sit on one you wanna laugh all the time, can't be all bad.

Sweet! Sign me up! Seriously though, i've been really considering getting a scooter as well. They're just so...european? And you can park the things anywhere.
Scooters are very common in England, usually the first rides for most kids. Those Jetforces are 2-stroke, so I don't think you US guys can get them legally, unless the 50cc version. I think I read somewhere the compressor version will put out about 22bhp though. Other options are buying a 125cc scoot and fitting a 172cc malossi tuning kit, which, when set up correctly with a few other parts, has the potential of 24bhp :thumb:
Long live the smoker!
Simon
Sweet! Another 'Sport Scooter'! Ever since I saw an Aprilia with the wide, phat tires and disc brakes I thought, "Cool, a performance scooter!". I know people race scooters, but this one looks cool. I've heard of a Vespa 80cc doin' 125mph! Or maybe it was an 125 doin' 80, but does Vespa make a 125? No matter, some of these things are as expensive as a motorcycle, at about $4,000.

The thing about scooters is they're only practical if you live downtown in a large city. If I still lived on a college campus, I'd definitely find a Honda Metropolitan for myself. You can't beat them for putting around town, and you can pick them up and park them in the grass, chained to a tree. You also don't need a motorcycle endorsement.
actually peugot makes a 2-stroke 50cc and 4-stroke 125cc and 4-stroke 125 with supercharger...so its possible to get one in the U.S.
