Title: GS500-F Stolen
Post by: jamez667 on March 05, 2007, 10:56:30 PM
License plate E8-7898 from 5645 mckee street, burnaby Canada. has minor scratches down the right side on fairing and engine, and black duct tape around handle bar in the middle where the keys hit. If anyone sees a bike matching this description please phone 604 671 0253 (my cell) or 911 whichever you seem fit... or if you are just suspicious email me at mail@jcnash.com. I will be personally phoning all of the motorbike dealers in the city to warn them and also the car dealerships in burnaby...

Thank you

holy crapola the bike was stolen at my gf's house in Burnaby and then 2 freaking hours later i heard something which sounded like my bike at the gas station i was walking by so i go out to check cause im paranoid at this point... and holy shaZam! there is my bike with some punk on it!!!!! so i stand in front of the bike and let him know who he is dealing with and that it is my property as i am phoning 911!!! holy shaZam! well i knocked the bike over about 6 times and then he managed to flood the bike so i walked away and he got it back up and pulled a gun on me so i bolted around the corner and he walked the bike down 10th ave in new west and i chased him to see where he went (still on the line with 911!!) and he managed to run start the thing and got away but OMG the adrenaline is still pumping i dont think i will be able to sleep!! his description is 6 foot tall white guy light hair blue or light brown eyes, he is on camera at the gas station as i had him there for at least 5 mins... holy shite small world this is... the bike is completely smashed now as it looks like he dropped it a couple times and it got knocked over in the kerfuffle so he cant resell it for much... if anyone sees that guy call 911 he is a crook, and an armed one at that... WHAT A DAY!

well he was on the bike and i approaced from the front and told him to get off my bike so he started up the bike and revved it really hard, im guessing to scare me... well i hit the handy emergency cut off switch and it got flooded.. so then we fought over the bike me knocking it over and him standing it up for about 6 times then he reached for his pocket like he was going for a gun so i did the run away while dodging CS style!! i hid around a fence... after that he got it up and WALKED it half a block attempting to give it a running start... i followed him on foot while telling 911 what was happening! and eventually he got it started and took off going through two red lights and driving on the wrong side of the road to get around traffic...

I think a flying leap would be appropriate in this situation. Maybe he would be stunned long enough to crush his windpipe, or at least get a good grip on it.

Do you have theft coverage? Was it parked on the street? Seems like GS's take a while to warm up. Nonetheless I always lock mine at night.

Do you think you could have taken him? I would have seriously gone for the kill if at all possible.

I think i have a vigilante streak. I was in the library checking email once upon a time, lady started screaming about her purse, and this guy goes running by, there are like 20 ppl nearby who do nothing. I have headphones on and a full msgr bag, however I'm game, so I go after him. He runs out the room and down about four flights of central stairs to the lobby, 5 at a time, he slams both sets of doors open, I follow, he books up the street, I think he might get away... he slips. I tackle him from behind and trip/bodyslam him, then he starts bitching that he didn't do anything and I'm hurting him. Then his accomplice, prison-looking white trash dude comes out, looks at me, and whips out his cell phone. Didn't do anything, there was a crowd around. So. It was a pickpocket ring... well... he went back to jail.

... dude what are the odds you'd run into the guy...  that's messed up... whats more messed up is why ANYONE would want to steal a GS500 in the 1st place..

glad your ok. ...  Since he stole the bike from your place, he has your address. So maybe it's best you let the 5-0 handle it .

JG

Apparently the level of civic involvement wasnt so high at that gas station that an attendant wouldn't have helped you... or was it a self serve?

I'd be pissed if people were just standing around.

How do most thieves start bikes... by putting a screwdriver in the ignition?

Laughs... well lets put it this way, the sorry ass that want to steal my GS has to walk on my property, located about an acre away from the street (400 FT), I have 6 mercury flood lights mounted on the fence line, and corner of the house, that alarms my bedrrom "alarm box" by beeping, I wake, slip the shotgun from under the bed, unlock the lock-block-trigger-device, drop the key of said device on the ground, pump the first round in as I grab 3 more from the top book shelf on my way through the living room, put on my welli boots shorties waiting by the door, exit under the parking area of my house, loaded, lights on, and I have 7 rounds to empty, and if the dude manages to get the bike and run off with it, I only keep 1 gallon of gas in the tank at a time...

Call 911, only 2 ways out of here, and both are prefered drunk traps in the state of texas, 911 will tell them I defended my property and life at the sight of a knife in his hand when I confronted the dude...

The sherrifs will chase his arse through dead empty 2 lanes farming backroads they know all the short cuts and dead ends to force your dead-man's arse, and run you off the road for their own entertainment, without any "city chopper" recording every thing...

And my issurance will get me a new one at no expense, The city of royse city will have a local newspaper blurb about " is royse city kids "gangs" stealing property ?" and I will need to clean my gun AGAIN....lol

I hope I made you laugh, dude your brave, without a gun I would not chase the dude, I would of simply called the cops, and wait for geico for 30 days and get a new one.
But eh... you only live once....  :)

cheers mate, get back on two wheels soon, but man, there is always "another ride" only if your alive to do it.

Patrick...in a pensive mood, wondering the way to explain to my wife that I need a night vision scoped Kar98, from my house to the highway , from my porche I have a 2 mile straight road ... humm... Kar98 could land a 800 Yards hit easy.. (grin)...

If I saw the thief riding my GS in traffic and I had a car on I wouldn't feel too bad about giving him a little sideways nudge. Maybe edge in front of him and SLAM on the brakes and see how far he goes.  :icon_mrgreen:

Ummmm.......  :dunno_white:

How did he steal it? He obviously had it started and could start it easily less the flooding. Hotwired? New Ignition? Have a Key?

At least in the U.S. we can carry concealed weapons. Did he draw on you, and you actually saw the gun? or you erroring on the side of caution and presume it was a gun he was going for?  :2guns:

i was guessing he ws reaching for a gun, but the gas station camera and the gas station atttendant both say he had one and pointed at me :( i have put the pic on my website along with an edited version of the story.

http://www.jcnash.com/pictures/james36.php (http://www.jcnash.com/pictures/james36.php)

i have to replace:

bottom left engine cover
instument panel
ignition
handlebar
both mirrors
brake and clutch handle
bar ends
foot pegs on left side
gas cap.
oh, and ALL turn signals!

and to make it perty again...
left fairin
repaint gas tank
repaint back left fairing

now i haven't started it yet so i dont know if it is dead but seeing he crashed it at speed it is probably fine seeing he had to get to speed! battery is dead cause he cracked the ignition and the cops left the bike "on"

that is the best idea i have heard in a while, i took a whole bunch of pictures of the blood stains, maybe after i get my bike fixed up i will get the tank painted with fake blood! just so those thieves remember what happens when someone takes my bike!

doesnt canada have somthing like a concealed weapon license?  this is why I always carry one of my hand guns. pull out the springfield 9 with trinium night sites or a .22 ruger long barrel, aim and down he goes, or blow the tire out and watch him crash and burn.  dude pulls a gun on me and hes going home in a body bag.

No concealed weapons in Canada, unless you're a cop. I don't even think citizens can legally own handguns, just rifles. IIRC.

Although the application process is fairly vigorous (interviews, tests) and you need a PAL license to purchase the handgun as well as ammunition, it is possible to legally own a sidearm in Canada. Another special license is needed to legally carry a concealed weapon, but it is rarely issued to private citizens.

#1 if you had a Chance you should have Ripped the Gas line off. ;) In a situation such as that I guess that is the Last thing a person has to think about and More than Likely they aren't in the right Spot.
If he Had Pulled the Gun on me I would have made it Known that if he did Shoot he Better Hope and Pray it Hurt me really bad or Killed me.Because if it Didn't I would stomp Him So Hard his Momma would Feel it.

Thank you for setting me straight. I was too tired to do the research, I was going off of something I thought I remembered someone saying once.
