Ok so my truck is starting to mark its territory. So i took a peak and the return line from the box, rubber clamped on part not the entire line, and the input to the pump, also clamped on hose are leaky. So I call Nissan, cause those hoses are dealer only, go figure, and the input hose is 19 bucks, ok. The other line however is 86 ass pounding dollars, because they don't just sell the rubber clamped on hose.
So I am not going to spend 86 buck for a peice of hose that i can get from a box for a couple bucks. This brings me to the question, radiator hose won't cut it for power steering, the fluid will in time eat it, but I suspect that fuel line will do the trick - is this correct?
Junkyard parts are cheap. dunno about fuel lines.
Just make sure you get Hose For high Pressure Fuel Injected Vehicles. :thumb: Or you can find a Local Napa that Makes Hydralic Hoses and Buy a section with the same Inside Diameter.it willbe Steel Braded but they may be Able to find the Fittings to go on the Ends that you need.
forgot to mention that these are non-pressure lines. One is the line that feeds fluid from the reservoir to the pump and one is the return line to the reservoir. So i don't need pressure lines. The rubber is just old and leaky, as in doesn't seal with the fitting it gets clamped too fluid just seaps out over time.
I'd use the fuel line but seeing as power steering oil is the same or similar to auto trans. oil, a transmision shop should be able to supply you with a length.
Goto a parts store with the hose, some parts store have bulk power steering return line, its the same as oil-cooler and radiator hoses i think

i tried that but they don't carry 3/4" hose for that purpose, only the smaller diameter.
UPDATE:
Found a place that custom makes hydrolic hoses and they have up to 1" so I am set. And should i need a pressure line in the future they can make one for way less then Nissan wants :thumb:
WTF is up with that? My truck is doing the same thing. I think Nissan has a defect.
go to a truckers supply place or a hydrolic industrial place. you need hi pressure hydrolic line. that will do the trick.

its not really a defect with mine, just old hoses that don't appear to be designed to withstand the fluid. If a pressure line was leaking i would be a little more pissed but as it is now for 5 bucks i can repair mine.
