Hello everyone!
Briefly:
I couldn't ride my bike for a year and though i sort of looked after it, the carbs got messy...
I've stripped/ cleaned them up, but the springy bits in both the float valves are seized and both carbs are randomly over-filling all the time.
Now, the cost in the U.K for 2 of these valves from Suzuki are about $140 US!!!!
I can get 2 pattern sevicing kits for about $60 US but only for pre-2001 models.
Now, post-2001 GS's (like my K2) have slightly different Carbs -3 jets instead of 2.
My question is, does anyone know for sure if the float valves are the same? -I'll gladly chuck the rest of the kit away and use the valves, or post the rest to one of you guys!
yes
Wow ... wait a sec there ... I am thinking it will not.
Tonight I can confirm.
But The float assy on an 01 is vastly different from 89-00.
Cool.
Srinath.
PHEW!
I'm sooo glad I didn't order it yet!
Thanks!!
www.mrcycles.com or www.bikebandit.com. Both sites have fiches. If they have the same part number, then they will work.
Thanks Egaeus !!!
I didn't know you could browse Suzi fiches online!
(DUH!)
I'll check!

I thought they changed in the 90's? Like 95~ish like the EX500...that's when their carbs changed.
The GS carbs had a major change in 2001, and a minor change in 2004.
Looks like I'm out of luck!
Here are the different float valve part numbers from a certain parts website:
1989-2000:
13370-02D00 (replaces 13370-44B00)
2001-2002:
13370-33E80
2004-2006 (K4,K5,K6)
13370-04F00
I wish I lived in the U.S !!!! -genuine suzuki parts are half the cost of the UK!!

I'm sorry, because they're outrageous here. The black cap on top of the carb is $18. $18 for 10 cents worth of plastic....
