Hey folks,
Thinking about gas mileage, looked down at tach/speedo, looked up to see box about eye-level bouncing down the highway toward me. Grazed my right foot, could have been bad.
MSF review:
Keep that 2 second following distance, try not to target-fixate, scan ahead for debris, follow the left-hand wheel track, and stay alert. And don't worry about the speedo/tach in traffic, just go by feel.
Corollary: be extra careful of any vehicle with an open bed!

Aye, and watch out for those 'road gators' (y'know...those big black things that try to cross the freeway at night...), I've seen a guy wrestle one down...wasn't pretty...had himself a nice trophy tho'. ;)
Heh, here in NC, it's more like the "Ninja Possums of Death" that go on night-time suicide missions to destroy motorcyclists.
A flattened Sprite can nearly caused me to lose it on an inside corner the other day. They become very slippery once under the rear tire.
Be careful!
Hell just the pot holes around here from winter are bad! They could suck in your whole bike..then where would you be! EEEK! They fillem- then they are worse! Its amazing!
I keep an eye on everything cars ahead of me beside me.. loonies 2 lanes over. I am a little paranoid... but I figure its keeps me very aware of my surroundings!

Follow the right if you're in Aus ;)
I took a golf ball to the visor at ~ 60km/h last weekend. Really woke me up. :o Some losers were driving shots from a park; at least golf courses have netting.
yeah be careful out there.
I ran into some lazer scans the other day.
damn cop....

I nearly ate it on a banana peel last weekend. Watch out for those.

WTF?! That would scare the shaZam! outta me! Then I would be looking for someone to kill! :2guns:
Not sure how many military guys/ gals there are in here (as you will know what I'm talking about ... BE CAREFUL around military installations! We tend to drive BIG SUV's and we like to drive them fast! I'm just glad that on the flip side, A LOT of us have bikes. I like to at least think that those of us who do are a little more cautious around other rides when we're forced into that 4-wheeled thingy-bobber ....
can never forget the damn freshly painted or worse the freshly applied sticker like white lines at cross walks and turning arrows on the road. Had the front wheel slide out on a turning arrow today.

I wonder if I'm the only person that lives in a state where they can actually afford to turn potholes into bumps

You figure this is something cartoons are made of eh? But I can't believe the number of banana peels I've passed on the road. Sheesh.
