cosmetic or performance?

first upgrade you should consider is progressive fork springs-$60. easy install on my site...

good tires when you need to upgrade.

short stalk turn signals-Lockhart Phillips for $18/pr -rear only, move stock rears to front.

cut rear fender way down...license plate relocation page on my site for an example or http://johnla2.tripod.com/ for another

can you otherwise be more specific on what you want to accomplish?

NEWS FLASH!:  I just discovered that Chaparral Motorsports (http://www.chaparral-racing.com) sells the Progressive (http://www.progressivesuspension.com) fork springs for $46.99!

You won't find them by going through the normal make/model/year search on Chaparral's site.  You have to do a direct search for part #377-1128.  I wasn't sure these were the right springs until I did a Google search and "verified" it from an old thread on a Yamaha Virago Mailing list (http://archives.itg.uiuc.edu/virago/2001-03/msg00333.htm).

Apparently the Virago 1000/1100 takes the same fork spring as the GS500E (I checked both bikes on Progressive's APPLICATION FINDER (http://www.progressivesuspension.com/prod_search.aspx) to make sure).

I haven't placed my order yet; I'm trying to figure out whether I want to buy some additional stuff from Chaparral at the same time.

i think that they had been cheaper, don't remember for sure. there may be some conflicting info because i think that chaparral had it as 1129 to whereas progressive's is 1128. JasonB bought a set from them, but i'm not sure which part number it was. I think that they worked fine though.

Yes they used to be cheaper. I got the springs and some bt45's from Chap. two weeks ago. Good service for anyone wanting to order some.
