So a former member of GStwin I stayed in touch with is selling a 2000 SV650 with 9k for $2400 picked up or $2475 delivered 2 hrs to New Orleans. It has a bad front fork seal and a inch long tear in the rear set, thats it as far as I know. It has good rubber and comes w/ a Yoshimora (sp) exhaust that sounds amazing in a video clip. What do y'all think? Here are a few stills from a video.

I'd ride it
I've gotten a facefull of yoshi from an SV650 before. They do sound NICE. The rear hugger adds a nice touch, too.
I hope that bike has gotten better care and storage than the car in the background of the last pic :o (especially with a torn seat)

Reupholstering that seat should be a cinch since it's 2 different seat pads as opposed to one big seat.

It will be a powerless nag but reliable. You'll need to put new fork springs in it anyway, so I wouldn't worry about the seals.
BTW, I have some SV for springs for sale! $75 shipped!!! They are rated at .95kg, I think.
Terrible deal, you're getting ripped off. I can't suggest strongly enough that you pass and wait for something better. ;)

fork seals dont cost all that much and a new seat would be even easier to install yourself. DUDE GO FOR IT!

you'd be a FOOL not to buy that one if it runs
fork rebuild.....125-150 with new springs/seals/dust seals
gsxr /or some kaw shock off of fle-bay...
1/2 inch spacers under the front of the tank..... :icon_twisted:
f-2 fork caps for preload adjustment
f-3 or YZF600 if ya want people to think you have rebound adjustment also...... you won't...but it looks like ya do.
So I just got back after nearly a 12 hour trip. I got out there and the SV looked pretty good, it had been stored in a garage. The fork seal was shot it had leaked all down the tubes and to the caliper. Me and the owner went on a test ride about 15 miles or so and it was kick ass tons of torque, I did my first power wheelie. We get back and I look it over and see a possible leak from around the clutch cover, it could of been from the extremely leaky seal blowing fluid off on to the bike. I stop, I look. I think. OKAY! I'll take it. We make copy's of the paper work and home we go....
Until 10 miles down interstate and it starts to backfire, then it starts topping out @ 70mph w/ full throttle. My dad following behind and I pull over :mad: The owner told me he had a problem w/ cracked air line or something and that he had fixed it. The guy and I have been talking online for months so I've gotten to know and trust him. I figure well, the problem isn't fixed. I call him up and get no answer, BAD feeling. So after 15 min and a soda we head back to his place not knowing what to expect. We pull up and hes outside on his cell trying to call me back. I explain it and he gets an uneasy look on his face and asks to take it for a ride. I had him my helmet and off he goes, now its my dad, his dad, and I standing around, what an awkward moment.
Ten min. later he is back and says it felt fine to him. We head over to his work shop so he can take a look @ what he thinks is the problem, same he had before. We stand around and look and poke and sigh and curse. Finally, it just comes down to it. He needs the cash ASAP but now he'd have to wait 6-8 weeks to get a new title to be able to sell it to someone else, since we used the only spots to sign it over. I say, look I drove 2 hours out here and now I have a bike that cant even make it home. He offers to hold it and get it repaired but give my cash back. I'm not down w/ that, I say I'll give you 50 bucks for your trouble w/ getting a new tittle, meet me 1/2 way here. He reluctantly gave me the cash back and we agreed in 2 weeks I'll come back out and he'll take it to the dealership and document the repair and proceed from there, if I'm still interested.
LONG DAY... I knew he was a good guy but their was no guarantee I'd get my cash back. I should of done a longer test ride but we needed to make it to the Notary before they closed. Lesson learned.
My new bike, maybe...

$90 for a presale inspection at the nearest bike shop is well worth it. Even if it costs you extra to get it there/have him drive it there.
