I don't know if this is true, someone sent this to me.
Last Saturday afternoon, a large capacity road motorcycle was being ridden along Rochedale Rd, in the vicinity of Mt Gravatt. The motorcycle was doing 80Km/h on a straight part of the road. A vehicle parked on the side of the road waited until the motorcycle was almost level with him and deliberately did a U turn in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was unable to brake and hit the car at 80Km/h, throwing the rider against the car and down the road. The rider suffered compound breaks to legs and hips and completely lost the patella (knee cap) from one leg.
The driver of the car got out, ran over to where the motorcyclist lay on the
road, and said "It's OK, I'm from Mt Gravatt Police" The driver took the
wallet and mobile phone owned by the rider, from his pockets, returned to
his car, drove off and hasn't been seen since. Leaving the rider critically
injured in the middle of Rochedale Road on a lovely Saturday afternoon.
Life is very cheap to some members of our society, and motorcyclists are
easy physical targets, when you have a 1+ tonne stolen weapon. Ride very defensively, and keep in mind that there are people out there that are prepared to kill you for the contents of your wallet, or your shitty mobile phone. :x
la la la la la la la la
I'm gonna pretend this is just an urban myth and no one is this bent...
:x :x if anyone sees that person, hit them at 80 km/h, and let them see what it feels like. okay, okay, enough of my rant (get off the soap-box). had someone pull out in front of me today. i locked up, somehow keeping the gs up-right, i followed them gave them (him&her) a ROYAL piece o' my mind, said they did not see me. i pointed out she was looking directly at me approaching, gabbin away on cell. told her next time to hang up phone and she might be able to drive better. he took offense to this, i invited him to step out and discuss this. he declined and they drove away.
my point is the way i look at it is i assume everyone will pull out in front of me, cages and bikes. and ride accordingly (defensively, always looking for a way around the potential obstruction. :thumb:
Sounds like nothing more than armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon to me. We have jail cells for this type of thing... if it were up to me I'd go for the "eye for an eye" type punishment. Unfortunatly it's not so we'll just have to hope that the real Mt. Gravatt police get him. F*ckin sociopaths...
If the story is indeed true, it's a shame the rider didn't have a Smith & Wesson on him. Snub-nose, 7-shot .357 Magnum, 100% titanium frame...walnut grips optional. :guns:
Ive been wanting to carry a baseball bat around ever since this one guy cut me off :guns: hehehe then i could whack idiot motorist's taillights out and dent up those damn volvos and noisy civics  .... ... only problem with the weapon idea with this scenario is if the homicidal idiot decided to use the rider's weapon against him...
THEN its a good idea to rider defensively/offensively... be ready to jump off your bike (or at least stand up enough off the pegs to be catapulted off safely) if its going to slam into a car... then roll and stop.... man, if that guy gave me shaZam! and i could walk, I'd pummel him into his own windshield and elbow-hold his face to his cars crankcase :x
Yea stories like that make me believe that two wrongs make a right ;)

We are not permitted to have any hand guns in Australia unless they are issued by law enforcement or are for sport shooting. Even then you would have to go through the whole pain in the ass procedure of getting a gun licence and it takes forever! :x
Crinum - where is that exactly man? Not on the way to Mt.Glorious I hope... could have been me, I was out there on Saturday! That's attempted murder right?
Stay Safe
Keyzer - Mt Gravat is southside, towards Underwood, Springwood, Logan. I hate the south side :x it sucks.
I'm not sure whether that would of been attempted murder, but it sure would of been theft and hit and run.
I don't think that the damage to the car would be worth the contents of the wallet, unless he went and bought new auto parts on the credit cards immediately. That is why I don't think it is true.
i'd imagine you'd steal a car and then dump it afterwards if you're doing this.

That's only because you don't understand it! Having grown up on the southside (back when Springwood didn't exist and you could still walk down the streets of Woodridge and Kingston after dark) I remember the northside as being where all the snobs came from. Goes to show, ay! ;)
Michael - I understand the southside, my aunty used to live there. Now she has come back to the Northside and feels a lot better for it :)
I've hung out at the Hyperdome and it has nothing on Chermside. :nana:
I'm not a snob, I just don't want my wallet pinched.
