I am in need of a 77-79 yamaha YZ-80 cylinder
mine is 0.080(2mm) over and worn out...
they do not make a sleeve any more.....Newcomb goes back to 1982
if you got some time please call little old local dirt bike yard in your local area for me.
I would really appreciate any help locating a cylinder less than 2mm over bore, preferably stock bore is stretching it....
or a sleeve.....
i will ask a few places tommorow.

Nikasil...www.mt-llc.com or something...your home state of wisconsin...They do cylinder repair...Probably not worth the $200+...Fine.
Cool.
Srinath.
yamaha is killing me....
NO identification at all
no cast marks
cylinder would have to still be on cases to determine if it is/was a 79...
Hey man, I can't help you out with the cylinder. But I do have a complete 1982 yz 80 which I am about to start parting out. The motor has blown though, my friend told me it was the connecting rod and I haven't even had time to check it (just picked it up from him on weekend and am out of town for the week). It is watercooled and engine parts will not interchange, I am sure. It does have excellent tires though (like brand new) and most plastics are excellent (rear fender is busted), seat is great, pipe is great no major dings. The suspension needs resealing, but otherwise complete although motor is in boxes. Let me know if you have interest in any parts, I am open to offers.
Jeff
the YZ engine i have is NOT in a YZ chassis..... ;)
pam, nothing to see here, move along.....
