Title: Jet Kit
Post by: wilgarn on March 18, 2007, 12:25:25 PM
I was just browsing for a jet kit and was unable to find one for an '06 F. There were plenty available for '04 and '05 which both have the same part #. Anyone have any experience or pertinant information regarding rejetting of the '06 ?

For the record i am planning to upgrade my exhaust to the full Jardine system and also use the K&N RU-2970 Lunchbox filter....  Everything I read here says that a rejetting is required for either of those upgrades, so I may as well do all three mods at once right ?

Don't buy a jet kit. Figure out which jets you need, and buy them from a dealership or a website like sudco, it's much cheaper. Jet kits are rip offs.

+1 on the ripoff! NGFL is spot on..
My 01 had 22.5 pilots,65mid main, 150 mains 2washers under the needle...with a wileyco and the 2970 and it was a tad rich...the jardine will flow better then the wileyco so u should be spot on.

You have an 06, you will need to replace 3 jets in each carb.  Take a look at my sig for what jets I ran NGFL will tell you my bike ran really well.  Almost no warm up time.  Only thing I didn't get around to was changing my mixture screw to 3 turns or 2.5 turns as 3.5 was a bit rich.

Head to your local bike shop they will be able to get your jets for your.  Unless you can find someone who needs them also.  Sudco now only sells their jets when you buy 2 or more sets of the same size.

I jetted my 05 (same as the 06)  with a
20 pilot jet
65 mid main jet
145 main jet

I also have a Jardine exhaust and a K&N lunch box filter. Didn't adjust my fuel mixture screw or needle. Runs fantastically!
