Title: Dgyver/Others on a shock swap...
Post by: Mk1inCali on March 19, 2007, 01:15:20 AM
Dgyver/others...

Does the "ball" type lower mounting point on a shock such as seen below eliminate this from a swap candidate?  It's been a while since I looked at my linkage and a friend wants to put the shock on ebay.  Just figuring if anybody is still up/is up early tomorrow (Monday) that can ixnay the idea I'll pass it on.

I've got a '95 GSX750R shock sitting in a dresser drawer, but needs oil and nitrogen, which nobody around here will do for under 100 bucks, and an '01 SV650 shock that I could pick up for nearly free, so since I am selling the Ducati after the bodywork gets done, I'll be riding the GS until I decide on supermotard or SV650.

Thanks!

I cannot access the link, have to be a member.

But if it is what I think it is by your description being a single attachment point at the bottom with a captured ball (Honda has shocks this way) instead of the 2 tabs of a clevis, then no.

Cool, thanks for the reinforcement.
