Hey guys this is my first post on the club, I just bought a BLUE 1997 Suzuki GS500E from someone who lived in Rigby Idaho he had bought it about a year ago from someone living in Oklahoma.
This is my second bike, my first was a 1976 Honda CB400F and the difference in handling and the confidence in turns this bike inspires is amazing.
The bike came equipped with the following mods (that I know of)
Vance and Hines exhaust
K&N performance intake
Dynojet Carb Jetted for altitude
Custom carbon fiber rear blinkers
Sproket has been switched out
She currently has 21k miles on the clock
I would love to know who's bike this used to be and let her know that she is in good hands!
Her maiden voyage was yesterday I did a 150 mile trip through the South East Idaho Valley I included some pictures,

Welcome. :thumb:
Looks like it has Srinath bars too.
Probably one of the old members. The stickers, as far as I know, weren't in production for quite a while.
Searching would probably be pretty difficult, as those are some common mods.

I like the head shot -- good choice for a White helmet -- very visible. Recently acquired one for myself. :thumb:

Wow, that bike looks to be in very good shape! Congrats, enjoy, and welcome. I'm still pretty new here to, and I just posted a comment the other day on how well I thought my GS handled compared to all the other old bikes I used to ride.... specifically an 80's Yamaha Special II.
OK so someone in Oklahoma bought bars from me.
There was this guy in Norman that I have emailed often. Dont remember who else in OK.
Anyway congrads, and yea its got bars I made prolly.
Cool.

Mark Wahlberg was Marky Mark, way cooler than NKOTB, duh!
Ever see Band of Brothers? Donnie Wahlberg did some really nice work in his scene with the sergeant. I like Mark as an actor too... Boogie Nights... word.

Everyone knows that PURPLE is the fastest! :icon_rolleyes:
That's cos people keep throwing the purple out the window ... and it is really reall fast when tossed out an airplane. :thumb:
Cool.
Srinath.
the back looks low to me, and maybe the front also. looks like a tiny bike !
if those mirrors are actually usable with proper gear on (IE JACKET/GLOVES) i HAVE to know where they are from, please.
i really like the look of that bike. low and mean. little. fun.
congrats and welcome!
I LOVE the mirrors, they leave the entire front veiw of the bike unobstructed...no dangly alien antena with chrome mirrors just small black mirros on the side of the bike!
I dont know where they came from, in fact I feel really bad as the bike came with the box the mirrors were packeged in and I have already thrown that box away. They were from Europe however. They screw into the sides of the handlebars. Im planing on using the empty screw mounts to mount a camera and a gps unit on the handlebar.
Everyone says the bike seems low...does that mean the suspension is not factory? The front needs a little work, I ride double up often and you can tell that it needs a stiffer spring. Lucky for me im not a big guy (140 pounds) and it suits me perfect riding solo.

"Napolean" bar end mirrors.
