Title: Gillette, WY Modding my Friends GS! An ongoing saga!
Post by: ibuiltmine-o1oo on March 20, 2007, 08:13:06 AM
Hello!
this is my buddys 06 GS500. It was bone stock till last night when we did some work to the blinkers, and the mudflap.

This is a couple shots of the front lights. they are a 'universal' light we got off eBay for 20 bucks. smoke colored lense with amber bulbs.
We used a carbide bit in a cordless drill to take the edge off the stock hole, and the new lights coverd it perfect. they even flex just enough to form to the contour of the body!

heres the work on the rear lights. the hardest part of this was taking the body apart to get to the smll nuts on the back of the new lights!

here is the stock mudguard, and us cutting it up. We cut it around the stock tool  space, and it left a little to hang down under the tail, but also gave us a nice spot to bolt up the plate. ( we were sure to check suspention compression clearance!)
So.... 2 hours easy work and 20 bucks.... looks sweet huh?
next mods are Pods, a 2brothers jet kit, and the local speed shop tuning it on the Dyno!

What other engine mods are good ones? Ignition advance? what else????
Thanks!

why buy a jet kit when you can buy just the jets and save yourself... I dunno, 50 bucks.

i know.... when i say jet kit, i mean that in a generic term.
i want to know more performance mods besides intake and exhaust.

The tunner will install whatever jets he needs.

I'm not really sure on performance mod's but you could a katana rear wheel swap.  It would allow you to run larger size rear tire.

The suspension on the GS really suck's you could do a katana rear shock and progressive springs in the front.

Change the sprocket to 14t.

Nice looking mods so far  :thumb:
