Sorry for a real newbie question, but I just got a tune up on my 93 GS and was wondering what an appropriate break in time and speed restrictions would be. I don't want to ruin a nice tune up. Thanks in advance. Sorry if it is a dumb question. :icon_confused:

There is no break in period after a tune up.
If you're new to riding, just remember to ride within your limits.

Thanks. Thought it was a dumb question but I have never had a real tune up before and someone I know said to take it easy for a 100 miles or so like new tires. Thought it was dumb too but thought you guys might know better. Been riding a few years but just bought the GS and have never had a professional tune done. Thought maybe I was missing something. You're not clogging posts. That's what we are here for. The only break-in period is a new engine. That is when you should keep it under 5k RPM's for awhile. Milage will vary depending upon who you talk to. I would say about 500 - 600 miles. Otheres would say forget the break in period... if the engine is going to go sour, it will and at that point it's still under warrenty. I'll stick with a break in period myself.
