Title: Risers On A Gs?

I Have A 1996 Gs500e , This is My First Time On Here.I Love This Forum , Very Helpful ,

As It Has The Clip On Style Bars. Is There Anyway I Can Fit Risers ,As Its A Streetfighter Project , I Want Renthol Style Bars

Any Advice Or Help Would Be Much Thanked For

I totally read the title as "Ricers on a GS?"

Also, I am sure there are plenty of people who are willing to trade you the clip-on style bars for their standard bar clamps.

Yeah, lots of people would swap with you. I'd offer to swap, but I just got some clip ons. They do need the bars replaced though, so I could possibly be talked into it.  :icon_mrgreen:

If you have the Euro-spec clip ons like me (and everyone else in the UK) and wish to fit a 1 piece handlebar you are going to have to obtain and fit a USA spec top yolk with the integral 2 off 22mm clamps. Or a yolk from another bike that follows the same dimensions, if you can find one. The difference is our clip-ons fit to the ends of the yoke via brackets and dont have provision for the clamps. Over the pond the 1 piece bar is clamped onto the top face of the yoke in the standard arrangement so if you do a swap both sides need the top yolk included. Alternatively you may be able to buy some aftermarket 22mm clamps/risers like these..........

and fit them to your euro-spec top yolk.
This is just a suggestion and I dont know for certain if its possible or not but the lower ones in the list appear to bolt on so it "could be" as simple as just drilling 4x 8.5mm holes in the top of the yoke.
You may also have to loose the front fork adjusters as the bars will run directly over the top of them and you may not have the height clearance.

I Just Want To Say Thank You For All Your Help , I Looked On This SIte For a while , but then i thought as its a us site ,i woodnt sign up ,. but then i just wanted to , The clip on bars are kool , but i much much prefer the Renthal Style. I Guess I Have A Taste For It

Thank You All So Much , :) . IM Making My Gs Into Quite A One Off, You Will See When Its Done , And Hopefully You Will See British Design At Its Top Level :)
