Of people who have gone down on their bikes.
It was last Saturday. I was on IH-35 in Austin. I was heading to demo day in a Harley dealership. There was a little traffic going, minding my business, scanning a little to left, a little to the right, and when I looked straight ahead again, SUV in front of me slammed on his breaks. I panicked and snatched my front brakes(big mistake). My front wheel locked up, skidded and my bike fell on it left side. I slid for about 20 feet and rolled once and I ended up on one knee(like I'm praying). Stood up and checked myself and then checked my bike. Clutch, mirror(left), and headlights are broken. Two Mexicans helped me move my bike to the side of the highway and told one of the truckers to CB that guy on the bike fell on the fast lane. Tow truck came about an hour and took my bike home. I was wearing my Shift jacket, Motoboss boots, Draggin jeans, helmet. I twisted my foot a little, but thats about it. No damage on my gear, just a little scratch on my helmet.
Just thought I'd share my experience with ya guys.

anyway. Good to here a bad story with a good ending. Congrats on being smart enough to wear the proper gear.

I learned the ground is hard(j/k). Seriously, I learned to squeeze instead of grabbing the brakes. :thumb:.

Some of us are polite, some of us are careful, some of us go out of our way to give motorcycles special consideration, some of us are even GS riders... and some of us shoot back.

Yeah dude, I-35 is nasty during traffic time. I don't like riding on it during heavy traffic. I prefer riding through downtown because of all the stupid drivers that pack onto 35 and tailgate and speed and change lanes without warning. Way too many aggressive drivers on there. Unfortunately, it's hard to get to Braker/35 any other way without seriously going out of your way.

I had a similar incident nothing more than a bent handlebar and a little road rash. Wasn't at fault though. A semi just pulled out and cut me off I was getting back up and his dumb ass still hadn't pulled all the way into the lane................. :2guns:
I guess I didn't really mean all SUV drivers some are very conscientious of bikes I've had some go out of their way and pull onto the pad at a light when they were turning right so the light would change for me. My point is that those are usually the ones that have a set of 2 wheels back home. People who don't ride usually just figure you don't matter if you're on a bike. I had one come right over into my lane nearly killed me. Damn driver didn't even notice when I knocked on her window as we're goin down the road at 50

That's one good lesson. The other good lesson is to be sure to leave pleeenty of space, because cars, trucks, SUV's, jeeps, EVERYONE...they all make sudden moves, and leaving enough cushion for them to do stupid things works in our favour.
