Title: motor swap question
Post by: makenzie71 on March 26, 2007, 06:15:48 PM
Working on a couple different ideas here but essentially I have a GS wiring harness and I'm wondering if I can slap in an EX650 or 500 or any other parallel twin in there and make it work?  I can't find anything different enough between any of the engines to say that the ahrnesses won't swap around without a problem...trying to find out if anyone knows something about it I don't.

It's actually going to go into an Avanti R2..a little more aggressive stance than a GS and about 100lbs lighter.

better off with a kaw harness if you are using a kaw engine.

puters are probably different along with associated pickups
coils probably different

kaw is watercooled and has extra wires for temp sensor, temp switch, and fan

why work 7 times as hard to get it to work?

The biggest reason for making it work is that I want to use the 650 block and I can get one cheap, but I'm not interested in EFI, much less piecing it together individually.
