Do you guys do anything special before you start your bikes up after sitting all winter? Mine is basically brand new, has 2kms on it, and I stored it in the basement where its been warm all winter.
I think I read in the manual that it says to put the bike into gear and push it to turn the engine over.
Does anyone do stuff like this to get the oil moving before you run it?
Mmmm yeap I guess you could Push it over a Little or Pull the Plugs and Crank it over without starting it.Really it probably doesn't matter too much it doesn't take long for it to start Pumping oil.Even if it's Drained down over the Winter there is still a Coat of Oil in all of the right Places.
It's not a bad idea to squirt some (engine) oil into the sparkplug holes and rotate the motor over by hand to distribute the oil in the cylinder (since the cylinders will almost always be dry, depending how long it sat). Here's how to rotate the motor by hand: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=33824.msg377152#msg377152

Jughead's statement of a coat of oil is true.
