Title: Ah, more clutch problems. Serious? Or Easily Fixable?
Post by: The Rocketeer on March 27, 2007, 07:37:26 PM
Hey everyone,

A few weeks after purchasing my bike I noticed that, while I am in first gear and the clutch is completely disengaged, there is a slight clicking noise that I have not noticed with any other bike I've ridden. Is this normal?

Bike is an 05 GS500 and only 1100 miles old. Someone told me this might be part of the normal break in process - if so, did my dealer "forget" to adjust the clutch cables? Someone told me this might be the problem

Thanks in advance,
R

I it only when you're in gear? the cam makes some noises at idle (other RPMs too) and it probally has nothing to do with your clutch. The clutch is inside the case and in an oil bath, I've never heard of it making noise.

It's only when I'm in gear and have the clutch disengaged.  It doesn't sound like it's the clutch itself, per se, it sounds like a faint clicking that may be coming from the chain assembly.

Do you think maybe the lines which attach to the clutch from the handle which operates it are loose?
