Hi Everyone. I'm so thankful that this site exists and look forward to making some new friends here.
My wife is getting her motorcycle endoresment next week so we went out and bought her a used 1993 GS500E last weekend. The bike has a little over 9k miles, is in good shape and we paid $900. Not bad, huhh?? I rode the bike from Wellington, Colorado (North of Fort Collins) down to Denver and the bike did well on I-25. Actually, it felt like a moped compared to my ZX14 but it fits her just fine. On to my questions...
The bike originally came from Illinois and to the best of my knowledge has never been jetted for the elevation here. It seemed to run fine last weekend but I'm wondering what is recommended for this bike at this altitude. Will jetting the bike make a difference?
It needs new tires and I'd like to change the original chain and sprocket. Recommendations would be most appreciated.
The tank has some dents in it. Anyone have one for sale?
Where can I obtain the original decals?
Oil recommendations? Is it ok to change from regular oil to synthetic?
Last, can someone recommend someplace in the Denver area to have the bike worked on?

Jetting: From what I've read they're jetted lean from the factory to comply with the EPA regulations. Unless it shows signs of running rich (Carbon fouled plugs, hesitation under load, sputtering, etc) I wouldn't bother. Is it possible the previous owner changed the jetting?
Decals can be obtained from Suzuki. There may be some aftermarket support.
If it has been running on non-synthetic oil, continue to run it on non-synthetic. Changing to synthetic oil will not measureably increase engine life, but it will loosen sludge from within the engine and allow it to circulate within the lubricating system. It could also cause other problems such as seal leakage. The engine was designed to run on service SF oil. Unless you intend to operate it under severe conditions such as racing there is no reason to run an expensive oil.

Jetting may be spot on for [that] altitude; Kerry is in Colorado and says the [stock] jetting is perfect for him.
Tires - suggest the factory sizes: 110/70 front, 130/70 rear.
Sprockets - stock sizes, 16 front, 39 rear; steel
Chain: o-ring, 110 links
Pisst. Scratch. Kerry lives in Utah - Orem Utah (south of Salt Lake and just north of Provo). You're right on what he said though. :)
On the Jetting I am in Grand Junction, CO and I had to go back to stock jets to get my '96 to run right.
