Quoteive upgraded to an r1 so now im sellin this. its a 2003 yzf600r it runs great. never had a problem with it at all.9500 miles vance and hines slip on. good condition a few small scratches. 2nd gear is completely gone. asking 3250 obo

Think about how he rides.  Wind it out hard in first with the front wheel sailing, skip second and go right into third.  That puts you at interstate cruising speed or faster on any road in the country.  The fact that second is a pile of bits in the oil sump is totally transparent to the operator.   :laugh: :icon_rolleyes:

The famous "2nd gear" issue with the YZF600R and to a lesser extent the older R6 has sadly caused me to stay away from those bikes.  I'm in the market for a good sport-touring bike.  The 600R fits the bill perfectly for me, but I just can't accept the 2nd gear issue.  Its a serious problem with those bikes and costs $300-$500 in parts alone to fix.  The bill will run $1,000 at a shop including labor and it seems like everyone has to fix them every 10,000-15,000 miles or so.  Unacceptable. :icon_rolleyes:
