hi all,[new member here]
i just bought a 06 gs500f for my first bike. what can you tell me about this bike? good? bad? and the ugly??

Uh, wouldn't it have made more sense to ask about all this before buying the bike?  :laugh: That being said, it's a terrific bike, although I'm not a big fan of the fairings. Then again, I am partial to the nekkid look *see's Duc Monster: DROOOOL*

congrats and welcome.  You should be pleased with your bike.  I will mention that I have seen a lot of fold with '06's posting about leaky carbs.  not to say that all 06's have this problem but it you bike starts to marks its territory and it smells like gas you might want to get it checked out while under the warranty period.

Good choice I did the same thing,,,,,

The only bad thing about the bike is a lack of power. Be prepared to catch some flack from some of your gsxr friends, but she will cruse at 80 and can go well into the triple digit range with no problems.
