Title: Fork "spring seat" missing
Post by: GeeP on April 07, 2007, 02:42:57 PM
I took my forks apart today to overhaul them and install a set of Sonic springs.  However, I noticed that callout #18 in this diagram (http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/300_0027/front_damper/front_damper.cfm?man=su&groupid=3100&parent=3070) is missing.  I guess somebody was in the forks before me.   :icon_rolleyes:

Does anybody have a photograph of the part?  What is the OD?  Material?  I'm not going to wait three weeks for a Suzuki part, I'll make a few tonight.

I just can't stand the thought of putting a couple of 5/8" washers in there.   :laugh:

I pulled one out of a bent set of forks, not sure if there was one in the other side. If there is, it did not want to come out easily.

Major OD = 31.5mm
Minor OD = 20mm
ID = 16mm
Height = 6mm
Thickness = 1.5mm
Material = steel

I recently rebuilt forks for a friend's 92 GS and there was a flat washer instead of the aforementioned part,
so it was in my 97   :dunno_white:
