What is the testing procedure to determine if the carb slides are bad on a 99?

Wait ... slides or diaphragms ... slides ... I only know of one clown who damaged his slides, and that was trying to install a DJ jet kit ... I have like 10 good ones ... Diaphragms ... whole different story ... I have none, but close eyeballing will tell you, looking at it to the light will ... and if you want to be extra sure take it off the slide and look to the light ... If taking it off, it comes easier down the bottom than over the top ... quite the opposite of what you may think.
You tear that too ??? damn ... I think I shouldn't habe encouraged you to do your carbs yourself.

I figured there was some type of test procedure but you and the man so I did as you said.
They look fine to me.
With a bright light behind them and I do not see anything.
Just want to make sure they are good as I do not want to have to put the carbs back together only to have to pull them apart again.
The black rubber things ... yes no light = good.
BTW make sure they are sitting in their groove before you clamp the top back on ... soaking in gas for long time gets them swollen, letting they dry out, gets them shrunk too small. I'd say you need to have it just right ... :laugh: ...
If they're not sitting right, you clamp on the damn top and they will tear ...
Yea I know ... I should charge much more for doing jetting, cos I deal with this in every carb ... BTW its a lot easier than you think ... but ... shhhh ... the rest of them dont know that.

At least someone is enjoying this because I am not.
Dude, I've taken my carbs apart so many times I lost count. I can take them apart and put them together with my eyes closed in less time than it takes to get them out. I still have to take the bowls off again and swap the floats which I managed to mix up which screwed up my fuel levels. The carbs are temperamental, and once fixed and adjusted correctly, must be treated extremely well (don't let them sit, etc.) to keep running right.
