i have verizon dsl. i'm not convinced its running up to par. in fact im SURE of it. my computer can handle jsut about any streaming video out there, thats not a question. it itself may however not be running up to par. in fact im SURE of that too. but none the less, i want to see if there is some kind of test i can do to see if im really getting what im paying (verizon) for. help?? (please, save the 'get comcast' joke mmmkay?)
there are quite a few. here is my goole search turned upclick (http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&q=free+bandwidth+speed+tests). Different cites will give wildly different numbers though depending on traffic at the time.....
sweet! how do i knwo what kind of DSL it is? ADSL, IDSL, HDSL, SDSL? wtf?

That's just on the wireless in my room. I'd like to plug into the wired connection (100mbps, hooray Georgia Tech!) and run the test again.. I'll do that when I'm not too lazy to get out of bed..
on speedtest.net i've been getting 200-900kbps and i've tested many times over the past few days. i checked what package we bought. we're supposed to be getting up to 3000kbps. wtf is going on????? do you think verizon is selling us the lower grade for the higher grade price? cant effing stand waiting for PICTURES to load. ghey.
I get ~2Mbps down and ~.5Mbps up on verizon dsl paying for the 3Mbps connection. Thats not to bad in my book.
no, its not. but when you are getting less than 1/3 of what you are supposed to be getting?? that in my mind calls for a fu%king refund!!
btw i totally spelled " g a y " in my last post. why did it change to ghey? thats ghey.
it did it again!!!!!!! G A Y. as in homosexual. (its all good as long as its 2 girls :))
I average 2Mbps with DSL sometimes going faster sometimes slower. Around my area all the ISPs suck bad, Honestly this is the best conection that I have had in the area, gaming was great before my home computer craped out. I could call and Buddha Loves You but all they would do is try and sell me the 5 meg service that actually gets 3.7 to 4M actual .....
All I have to say is its actually better than the cable in the area cause where I'm at its right next to the hub.
