I just got my 99 GS 500, like it very much, and rode 65 miles the first day I got it.
however, here are two things I'm considering to change.
:cookoo:
First, the front fork, it's too... soft, though I know this iis the ssue for GS before I bought it, but it still surprised me when I went over my apartment bumper at 20 mph, and had this stiff bottom feeling, I'm definitely going to fix this problem soon. Does anyone know any other spring fits 99 model GS besides progressive spring? I thought, since this is the common issue on GS, it may be another aftermarket spring supplier, just wanna to compare.
Second, this is pure cosmetics issue. I don't like the looking of the rectangle rear breaking light, doesn't anyone know anything about any other model of the rear breaking light would fit on 99 GS? I know, late 90's Yamaha R6 rear light can make it fit on 01 GS, but, 01 had little different body style than 99. Wonder if anyone knows anything about this modification issue.
Thank a lot. :)

Lots of info there... I went with Progressives and changed 'em the lazy way (http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id2.html) :thumb:
What's up with all the fork spring questions lately? :)
The winter is hard on the road and that means more potholes in the middle of turns. Thats why I just ordered sonic springs :thumb:
I just ordered sonics last night. Sonicsprings.com
