Actually It all depends on what your going to do to get Fired. :dunno_white: :dunno_white:

Quit every time.  Looks a lot better when you are applying for your next one.

I too, am waiting for a prime moment to quit from my job.   I have to wait for my bonus check to come in first before I do anything.

Work sucks.

I like to fired uneployment is cool free money in the mail, I do side to make for the diff.

really if you can't make it just slack off and look for something better, quit when it's best for you.

If  you slack only two things will happen

1. they fire you!

2. they realize they need you and pay you!

either way you turn out ahead.

I have been fired, but I have collected unemployment. They check and in certain circumstances decide the employer was in correct in firing you, they should have laid you off. I guess that gets marked against the employer and they let you collect. That was in CA, no idea if NC does that. I have generally found CA in 2002 was worse than NC in 2004, like a lot worse. Like 330 a week against 460 a week. Of course CA in 2001 was 230 a week, and they had some serious ratcheting up program in place. So presumably they are higher than 330 now, but CA was so $$$ in 01 that the 230 was pitiful.
Cool.

:cookoo: In PA our unemployment comp is based on your last 3 quarters income.. I got about $770 a week for about a year in 2001 for sitting on my ass  :icon_twisted: :icon_mrgreen:

must be nice . in texas if you drawn unemployment  you have to go to the Texas work force and fill out at lest 3-6 app. a week and you have to take the first job that is offerted to you at your last pay . IE if you where getting paid 10.50 an hour .. you have to take the first job that is offered to you at that pay or higher ....

never quit a job unless you have another lined up.  Breaks in employment on your resume look bad.

I prefer to quit, it looks and feels better, unemployment isn't as important to me as knowing I quit voluntarily, rather than got fired for performance.

I know how it feels, I have quit (and once or twice gotten canned) from many slave/monkey entry level jobs. Regardless of reason it's never pleasant to be adrift, like the rug is yanked from under your feet and the wind begins blowing through you. Unsure if this is an opportunity in disguise or just another red mark in a growing pile of setbacks. Meanwhile, you have to put on a straight face and decent clothes and try not to look too haggard when you're out pounding pavement.  :icon_confused: Builds character.  :icon_razz:

Fortunately thats all over for me, for the time being.  :icon_razz: Not that I'm on a ladder to anywhere.

Wowee ... In NC and CA its about that. 3 quarters ago is your base period employer. That pay determines your amount. But it caps off at a max amount. You can make 50K or 300K and you'd still get the same amount. Also they cap it at 6 months in a year.
Cool.
