If you want a bike with a split seat, just buy a bike with a split seat.
isnt a 02 a little old? like im planing on doing lots of trips and hopefully track day and drag race days

...You're kidding, right? 2002? Old? I mean, I guess if you have to buy super new then maybe. But no. It's not old.
And you are planning on doing a track day? No offense, but yeah freakin' right. Drag strip, maybe. But the drag strip is not a "track day".
Gotta agree with alpha, an 02 is by no means old... and if you don't have the knowledge to realize that/do your own research on a bike you want to own you don't belong on a track, much like senile 92 year olds don't belong on the road.
Old? :icon_confused: Does it really matter as long as it isn't trashed out? :dunno_white:
Good point!!! I'd rather ride my GS than an 06 gixxer that I knew had been dogged out to hell and back :thumb:
Maybe he's into the Newest Latest Craze thingy. :dunno_white: Wish I could Afford a new bike but I'm kinda fond of my Old Junk.I've been to the Cycle shop a ew times and Drooled over a NEW 03 SV1000 enough times that it's probably starting to Rust. Then I get to thinking about that Payment every month and leave.  $5000 could restore my 68 T500 Cobra andmy 72 GT750. :thumb:
lol, i knew i was gona get burnt for that one. what i should have said, is a 02 going to require a lot more maintanace than an 06? and i think im ready for the track, im sorry u feel other wise i have ridden 10,000 in the past moth, attend several of those motorcycle safety courses to keep up and make sure im doing things right. I think that buy november i should be ready for my 1st day.
If anything I'd figure it'd be easier. You don't have to worry about voiding a stupid warranty.
oww, im not looking for a new bike. i want something for like 5g's
I know a guy who is selling a 05 or 06 ( dont remember ) Gix 6 that's mapped and has a full yosh exhaust. He's pretty much willing to take anything reasonable. Goin through a divorce :icon_rolleyes: I'm goin to talk to him tommorow about it, but I probably wont be able to afford it I'm on a budget now that I've dropped a shaZam! ton into the GS
uff luck with it, im finally done paying off my gs and im going to give it to my little bro as a present for his bday, so now im either going to pick up my neighbours 03 pold sv rave bike or invest in one of these cbr600f4i.

After all...this is what it seems like you want to do...nothing wrong with stunting..just do it in a stunt park. Some guys I know are opening NY's first bike only stunt park this summer :thumb:
thas really cool, but no thanks. i want to race.

Dude, you can race anything. Even fiddys.
This kid is 16 and he's racing 50cc bikes, and I bet he could whoop you but good.

Look, he's even racing a smaller fiddy:

If you note the top picture, the big one I posted big for a reason, that is NOT a pocket bike. That is a YSR50, a 6 speed 50cc two stroke race bike. It has a cable operated clutch and a transmission. Pocket bikes have a centripetal clutch and transmission (twist and go).
You could even go with Honda if you so desire - NSR50

I thought you said you wanted to RACE. You don't race a street bike. You have dedicated race bikes. If you just want to go to the track, you can still go to the track with a fiddy, where do you think I took those pictures at? And let me tell you, those fiddys crash a hell of a lot better than a full on sport bike. You crash your street bike on a track and you are out a street bike and a track bike. You crash one of those fiddys on the track and you pick it up, kick start it, and go on your way. And look, you still have a street bike and a track bike.
Based on what I've read, you don't need any more power than those fiddys put down, Nick.
im sure i dont... but i dont exactly have a money tree. those things are expensive they go for like 2g

Well, you are planning on getting an F4i, right? Those cost more than your GS is worth, and then you said you would want to spend $2k to get it track ready. That's $7k right there. Why not keep the GS and get a fiddy?
my budget is 5000,thats enought for used cbr600f4i. i never said i was gona spends 2g to make it track ready, i said id rather spend 2g's to make it track ready (not saying that i would spend that much money anyways) rather than get a fiddy.

+1
You need to Start out Small.Really you do.Take my Word for it don't go all out Squiddy because your going to get Hurt...........Bad.If your really Serious get into the Vintage Racing Scene first.Buy an Old Honda CB350.They are out there Pretty Cheap.Or Maybe a CB160 would be More your Speed.Right Now I don't think you Realize what all is involved.Hows your Medical Insurance? Reality will set in when you get Med Flighted out.Really if your Wanting to Race a CBR600 or Whatever you should Just Reconsider taking up Bull Riding if you want an Adrenaline rush. The Ups would be #1 Low Cost since you Don't Have to Buy your Ride #2 You Might Get some Sense Knocked into you. :thumb:
Take my word for it.I know too many Racers. All are racing 500cc Two Stroke Bikes. All have gotten Hurt Very badly.Would I race? Yes but I don't have the Funds or the Insurance,Along with the Time to take the Schools or even Travel Around.Hopefully one of these days I'll get enough Parts Gathered to Build one and enough Funds and Time to make it all Happen.Of Course I wouldn't Start out Small.A Fiddy would get stuck in my Butt Crack.I would start on what I'm used too.A stock 500cc Two Stroke and Modify as I get more experience.
thanks jughead. actually i was reading an article not to long ago talking about how many guys get heart at the track. trust me ive seen bad. my neighbour got airlifted once, not a prety sight. but the thing is im not sure if they have vintage racing here in south florida. it seem like all they have is the ccs
Yeap Vintage Racing is alive and Well in FL. Well at least once a Year at Daytona with Ahrma. There are races in AL,GA,SC.With Wera I think they still run Jennings. :dunno_white:
