Title: nuts , bolts , washers .
Post by: j!m on April 12, 2007, 01:15:45 PM
During my early biking days i remember you could buy a complete set of nuts , bolts ect for a given bike . I wish to start replacing the now rusting bolts around the frame and various other places . I had a long chat with my mate Google but he could not help . So is it just a case of removal and getting replacments as i go along ? I can order bolts and stuff through work but as for my old cb750 , a bag of all bolts ect would be much easier . Is this making sense ? And i take it the bike is Metric .

 Jim

Yup, I've seen them... maybe they were fancy color replacements, but I know I've seen them.  Let me do some searching...

Ok, found what I remembered... more expensive than I would have thought, and sourced from the UK

I find it hard to believe that there are differences in the year groupings they list.  And I don't know what's with the 02 only listing, but I linked to everything I saw for the GS500.

Color bolts seem to be around 50 USD and the stainless steel almost 90 USD

Good luck!

Thanks Sledge, price looks much better... I wasn't in the market for one of these kits, but maybe i should start thinking about it a little harder... I broke one of my crankcase cover bolts today (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=34408.0)

...or does anyone who's upgrading want to send me one of their M6x65 bolts?  :icon_lol:

Don't get the alloy bolts! they look good and all, but alluminum is pretty weak when being used to replace a steel bolt. The stainless ones are much better. They're nice and strong and look good polished.
