Note that this is on a Saturday. It's the only day that my wife will be out of town. :icon_mrgreen:
This time it will start at the end of last year's ride @ the store at the end of Old San Jose/Soquel road and go north from there, that way we'll hit the stopsign and no one will miss the turn. ;) The plan is that we will end up at the top of 'four corners' (Hwy9 and 35/Skyline Blvd.), and then go to St. John's on Lawrence Expwy in Sunnyvale for an early dinner, and then to my house to view the dvd that TaZz (Rich's brother) made.
Other suggestions are welcome, as follows:
Meet: 76 gas station at the bottom of Hwy 9 in Saratoga*
Time: about ~ 10:00am
*alternate/Pre-meeting meet in Sunnyvale @ the Starbuckies on the corner of Lawrence and El Camino @ 9:00am
Pending route to follow
That sounds utterly brilliant just as it is, scratch. :kiss3:
I'm definitely in. :thumb: I can't believe it's been almost a year since we lost  Phae
Bring your hankies for the DVD.
After checking calendar...do you mean Saturday, July 7th? The 9th is a Monday this year....
Crap. I mean June. Oops.
Wife suggested not veiwing the dvd at the end of the ride, because it would be a depressing end to a great ride, and she doesn't think that Rich would'ave wanted it that way. I have extra copies of the dvd if anybody local wants them.
Also, Pandy reminded me that July 1st (a Sunday) is the actual anniversary, and I will ride that day as well. I'm thinking the 10am-at-Alice's Restaraunt, on the top of Hwy84 and Skyline-to-Pescadero route. So if you miss, June 9th, there'll be another ride July 1st.
I'm in for both.
Where ever we are, we should get out an ride our favourite road on July 1. Would be a fitting tribute -- singluarly or in groups. (Guess you can infer that I won't make the California ride.)

Amen. Were that we could all get together for a ride in person, but we can do it in spirit. :kiss3:
The Saturday, June 9th ride, I was thinking of meeting at 10am at the earliest.
Also, after both rides I plan on a trip down, and back up, Page Mill road as it was repaved just last year.
Page Mill is glorious now. I live right off Page Mill and 280, so I usually take Page Mill up to Skyline.
Anyway, count me in for the 9th :)
Ceek says he's in for sweep if needed (and to help pick me up off the ground as needed :icon_lol:). :thumb:
June 9th is my Wife's B-Day...
I might be down there the following Monday... We shall see....

e's welcome to come!
Argh, so I have a take-home final from Friday to Monday. I'll probably only come for part of the ride on Saturday.
You know we're starting down south and coming up north?
So how come we're doing two rides instead of just one? We're all spread pretty thin time-wise, and I *KNOW* scratch is always hurtin' for time.... :dunno_white:
Wait, I thought you were meeting at Alice's at 10am? Or is that only the July 1st ride?
I think it's time to update the first post in the thread?
I think June 9th's meeting place is the ending place of last year's ride....
If it's my choice I would like to scrap this ride on the 9th of June in favor of the ride July 1st.
All those in favor?

How about consolidating the two rides into one, and making it July 1st, which is the official one-year anniversary? :)
So motioned.
Any seconds?

Moving into my new house Sunday
Yeah, I'll second.
July 1st, 9am Starbucks? :icon_mrgreen:
Be there!
I should be able to make it to the July 1st ride. As long as we don't do Tunitas Creek Rd I'm cool with anything!
Which Starbucks are you guys referring to?

Sounds good. No chance of any finals or homework during the summer :)
I'm moving to Mountain View. Near 237 and El Camino. 5-bedroom, but no garage.
:o
Just park her in one of the bedrooms! :icon_mrgreen:
It sounds like it could be a fun ride! With my work and friend schedule the way it is currently I couldn't tell you what I'll be doing this weekend let alone 3 weeks from now :cookoo:
I haven't been riding much lately, I think my forced bike commuting during school really burned up my enthusiasm for riding. I'm working myself back into it though and finding myself enjoying it again. Lately I've been into turning my Toyota into a trail truck/rock-crawler and working on a solid axle conversion (also bought a MIG welder :thumb:). I'll be getting my 2nd tattoo outlined this week so I'm pretty stoked on that :icon_mrgreen:
I hate to sound wishy washy about it but I'll know where my head is at as it gets closer to July 1st
btw thanks for the heads up pandy :thumb:

It needs to heal a bit before the color can go on but I'm pretty damn happy with it so far. I've got pictures of it up on my myspace page (from my homepage link)
I'm still in the honeymoon phase going 'dang this looks nuts' whenever I glance at it
Didn't I already update the first post? If I haven't, what am I supposed to change?
Andy - I still have that clutch adjuster for you.
AOOOooohhh!
Up 9, across 35, down 84 (towards 1), to Pescadero, to 1, up Bonnie Doon, straight onto Empire/Felton to Felton (through the forest of Endor), left onto 9, to the top @ four corners.
Y'know...the loop.
We could include going down Page Mill and then back up it, to break up the monotony of 35. Actually, now that I think of it we will do that.
Per usual, we'll just follow you! :icon_lol: :kiss3:

I would love to come, but I'm out of town that weekend.
Also, a couple suggestions for the route if you don't want to spend too much time on 1. First, take Cloverdale off of Pescadero and cut down to 1 at Gazos Creek. Second, take Swanton off and back onto 1. It looks like a pretty greate route all and all, especially Pescadero. I love that road.
Awww...sorry you can't make it, brett  (and that I forgot your name on the list! :cookoo:)
P.S. If there are any n00bs out there who are afraid to join because you think you might be too slow, don't EVEN be worried about that. Ya' see, we all *pretend* that I'm riding with the group, but I'm so far behind everyone that I really have my own group...the SLOW group....so come join us!
I'm pretty sure I can go. I will be breaking in new tires and brakepads, so I will likely be in the Pandy group.
Page Mill is :o going down, should be good practice.

Hey pandy I'm afraid I'd be the exact opposite too fast for the group Id be in a group of my own called where did everyone go group. July 1st hmmmm I wanna but dont wanna(bike not 100% yet, still waiting for the jets to arrive, rear shock to arrive and put the new inner fork tube and seals on)
No worries.
WildBlue - it is scary for you now, but after some pointers from me, you'll be loving going downhill.

(Seriously, are you? I can't tell :dunno_white: )
I'm kidding! But, it's really fun! I've been doing it for the past two Doc Wong rides down...Jamison Creek? I'm actually faster going down that road in neutral! You really have to be on the brakes before the turn, and not while in the turn! It's just like riding a really big, heavy bicycle...with way more powerful brakes.

With regard to Sunday, where are we stopping for lunch?
Is this setting the tone for the whole ride? I don't know if I'll be able to concentrate on riding, what with all the innuendo flying about...
Also, my fork seal is unhappy again, and while I've ordered the fork seals from bikebandit, I have no guarantee they'll arrive by Saturday. So it's either ride carefully or I could bring my car. :icon_twisted:
Film crew!
I still have that one Leakproof available.
Brunch at Alice's (I figure we'll be there @ ~11ish), or a really late lunch in Davenport. I prefer the former, and it gives another good meeting place for latecomers.
Also, zip-tying a sock, or rag, around the fork leg to prevent oil leaking down the leg onto the brake works.

Is it leaking profusely? If the oil isn't likely to get on your brakes i'd say ride carefully, but it's up to you (you should've seen Matt's forks on the trip to Vancouver, they were :o).

Yeah I remember Matt's fork seals. They were atrocious. He's coming up this weekend (though I'm sure you know) and he might rent a bike from SJ BMW and come with us. I think my bike should be ok (though after 2 weeks of commuting I've noticed a bit of oil leaking from the valve cover gasket). So I'll do a bit of minor stuff tomorrow morning and it'll be good to go. Only reason I'd consider my car is that I'm taking it on my first autocross later this month, and I want to practice some "spirited" driving.
Thanks for the offer, Scratch, but with new ones on their way, I'll just wait until they get here.
