How Much Have You Spent , On Your Gs , Including The Price Of The Bike
I Think When Im Finished With Mine , *60% Done* I Would Have Spent Almost 2000 Pounds, *Including The Bike

I'm figuring when I'm done I'll have about 2k USD in mine.  I think that's about 1000 pounds,  but I got my actual bike or 800 USD :thumb: :thumb:

It definitely makes it more comfortable to take through the tight turns.  And it's way more durable than the GS one :thumb: :thumb:  I was riding with a Harley 1600 today and we went back and forth, he would leave me in the straights and I'd dust him in the curves :thumb: :thumb:  All this about an hour after I went sliding along the ground :o almost no damge to the bike :thumb:  And I already fixed the paint job ( truck bed liner )  just sanded it down a little and sprayed on a new layer :thumb:

Considering some of the repairs I had to make where I couldn't easily get used parts, and maintenance items, and upgrades....

More than I could ever get out of the bike.  I think around $2600.

I've probably got... $600 (?) in mine, grand total, including my last oil change. It's a stocker save for jets, clubman bars, and $15 worth of high-grade aluminum for homemade rearsets and a fork brace.

I have....

$1000 for the bike
$5 for fuel lines
$2 for carb cleaner
$1 for o-rings for needle valve seats
$20 for front brake lever

so $1028 total. I need to have the 2 tank dents poped or have them filled with bondo then painted. I'd like to have the tank and plastics black with the white wheels and some chrome accents. I'm getting the special vacuum gauge to synchronize the carburetors . It does run good though and I've had it at 95mph with another gear to go :D I went from a moped to this :D man what a difference. I went from topping 35mph to doing highway speeds easily. This is my first motorcycle and I think it's a great starter bike because of its simplicity. I got it and easily ripped off the carbs and cleaned them in about an hour with no problems. I love the GS :D I'll get some pics and post them when I get a chance.

$25 for replacement fork oil
$27 for 2 sets of fork oil seals

_______________________________

$3400. Way more than the bike is worth. But oh well, I love her. I'm gonna ride her till she dies. Even after (if) I graduate, and can afford a newer/sexier/prettier bike, I'll keep the GS... But I'm looking at a Monster 695 next.. especially if I end up with an enlistment bonus (Yes, I'm considering the military..)

Money well spent!

*EDITED TO ADD Case Guards.

How much spent and how much it is worth are 2 different things....

In my 97 street bike, I have about $1500 in just the parts alone and close to 300 hours building it. If you add in labor then I have $$$$$$, which cannot ever recover. Right now if I could get $2500 I would be happy, not that I am selling it.

As for my 92, since it is still in the works tough to say but I should be under $2000....until I start on the GR650 motor....then  :cookoo:
