Title: Where's the best place to order parts from?
Post by: frankcougar on April 19, 2007, 11:33:57 AM
I need a head cover/valve cover gasket.  Where's the best place to order parts for my GS500E online?  Considerations are price and quality.  Let me know any suggestions.  I'm sick of oil dripping on my shoe and left pant leg when I'm riding.

For smaller oem purchases I use the dealer (no shipping cost)

Otherwise ebay if I can find what I need or ronayers, bikebandit, mrcycles & flatoutmotorcycles have suzuki parts fiche that you can order just about any oem part from.  I usually check all of them for lowest price with shipping.  Recently I like ronayers, but have heard good things about flatout, though haven't used them yet

For non-oem replacment parts I like Chaparral, parts411, and Dennis Kirk

My last order via BikeBandit took 2+ weeks.  My last order though my local dealer went in at 5:15 PM Friday and arrived Wednesday afternoon with no shipping charge.

OEM parts...
One local dealer (Foothills Motorsports), RonAyers, BikeBandit are the only ones I order from. Recently got tires from RA in 3 days. I prefer to order from the dealer but hate the traffic at the exit.

I will never deal with MRCycles again.

+1 on MR...I knew a girl that worked there and that's the ONLY reason I went there in the first place.

Thanks for the tips.  You can find anything with google but there's no substitute for the testimonial of actual experience.
