As from yesterday , after i park the bike up petrol ( gas ) drips out a tube near the right hand foot peg . It drips about an egg cup full and it stinks the garage out . I am new to taking things apart but guess at the float chamber in the carbs ? Could be wrong though . As i am not familiar with all things carbs , is it something i can do ? The bike has stood around alot during the last year so whats stuck . Thanks in advance .

It could be that overflow thing if you filled up to the top and rode hard or on bumpy roads and parked it.
Cool.
Srinath.
Srinath could be right. I would follow the offending hose back to the source. I suspect you'll find the one you have problems with goes to the air box, or the fuel tank. Cleaning and/or not over-filling may be necessary. Either way it is likely a simple matter to make it stop weaping.
I had the same symptom. I went out of town for a couple of weeks got back rode it a few more times and it hasn't leaked since. Must've overfilled it. I did put some gas in a few days before I noticed it dripping out of the hose by the right foot peg.
There are several hoses down there... One is your tank overflow (that little hole next to the filler under the gas cap)... One is the drain from your airbox... And one is the battery breather (or something... )
If the gas is coming out of the tank overflow, simple... Don't over fill the tank.
If the gas is coming out of the airbox drain, it could be a couple things... You could have flooded it somehow (running with choke on too long, twisting the throttle while it's not running, left the petcock on PRIME, etc) or it could be pissing gas out of the carbs... Which could be another few causes.
Like the others said, figure out which hose it's coming from first... Then you can figure out the rest...
I had a problem with mine leaking out of the airbox drain hose and turned out that it was the o-ring around the left carbs needle valve seat. I replaced that o-ring for $0.50 and it hasn't leaked since :D
Thanks for all the replies  . *Strikes forehead with hand* I wear a dunce hat and stand in the corner for a while . Followed said tube and found i'd filled the tank up to much . Well there you have it and now guesss what . . . no leaks . And now i know so cheers all .

First bike ive had with a tube thingy from the tank !
It's better to drip out of the tube than to spill all over your leg. :o
