Title: The GS is a demon
Post by: fenderjonesy on April 23, 2007, 01:07:23 PM
All of my old friends in high school rode harleys...I finally my first bike, a GS, three weeks ago. So I called my harley buddies to ride because I dont know any GS riders or sportbike riders near me. So I meet up with these guys and I felt a little underpowered  amongst them they had a Deuce, Sporty 1200, S&S Super Sport (chopped up harley running a 1300 S&S). By the end of the day my confidence had grown leaps and bounds and I could definately hang with a harley on the GS. 1st gear sucks but once second pulls in at 7k its fun to hold on and drop the hammer. I love the feel of the GS and the performance is suprising. I am not saying a GS could take those bikes straight line...but by no means were they blowing me away. I just thought I would share my joy of the weekend with you all.  :icon_mrgreen:

Practice those corners (safely!)...  Then you can practice leaning off...  Then hanging off...  Then you can practice laughing at your buddies 'cause they can't hang with you!

You may have to rev the GS, but it's light and flips side-to-side like nothing!   :icon_mrgreen:

Unless the guy on the 1200 knows how to ride it, or if the S&S has some ground clearance and some knowledge as well.
