Is it normal for the to feel like it's slipping in 6th gear only,
1-5 feel good!!
when I shift in under power it revs just a little high and pulls slightly for a couple of seconds, ad then it kicks in and goes.

When a clutch starts going out, it'll usally start slipping in the higher gears first. Make sure it's adjusted but if it is then your clutch is probally starting to go. That sucks. :cry:
how hard are they to change?
1 buy clutch kit....friction plates only....don't need drive plates unless they are seriously blue and warped
2 buy performance springs...20 bucks....bit stiffer
3 buy clutch cover gasker
4 buy oil change stuff
5 drain oil
6 remove clutch cover
7 remove 10mm head bolts that hold the springs in and the pressure plate
8 remove the clutch assy with all plates.... friction and drive
9 inspect the drive plates....if light blueing or look a little burnt....80 grit sand paper....36 will work also
10 reinstall plates in sequence as they came out with new friction plates instead of the old ones
11 install the pressure plate and reinstall the springs and bolts
12 new gasket
13 cover back on
14 do an oil change
15 adjust clutch lever
16 ride
not so bad!
Thanks now lets hope I don't have to do it until winter.
I've heard that it works better if you soak the friction plates in engine oil for a day before installing them. It'll work smoother and will require less adjustment in the first couple hundres miles than if you install them dry.
werase643 Has a pretty good description of it but I'd feel beter doing it with a manual in front of me at least for torque values.
I think I'll have to brack down and buy a manual.

the clutch spring bolts....3-4.5 FT-LB you got a torque wrench that accurate......need an IN-LB torque wrench
that is about.....so tight.... with a 1/4 drive ratchet......
no listing for the cover bolts specifically
but a 5mm bolt with a #4 or no marking is 1.5-3 FT-LB and with a #7 marking is 2-4.5 FT-LB
again, about.....that tight
had to do some searching for confirmation.....
soak for 5-10 min in oil.....no good reason really, but it is in print.....not the factory service man but the instructions for an aftermarket clutch pack....
