Title: My turn yesterday.
Post by: yamahonkawazuki on July 21, 2003, 07:44:30 PM
:x frankenbike got hit. :x  i service lawns as a side venture, and i decided yesterday to ride the gs over to clients place. (i use his lawn equip). finished 4 hrs later, i decided to ride to friends house to show him the bike. i pull onto the a street from a turn, and fall in behind a transfer truck (24 ft box). i didnt go around cause i had a left turn to make shortly.
truck's driver decides to talk to a friend who was goin in the opposite direction, AND BACKS UP!!! :x  :x i locked up somehow keeping it straight and upright. and stop 3ft behind truck, who is continuing to reverse, and BAM smashes my headlight (i had stalled, was trying to re-start)i laid bike down on side and got out of its way. driver was finally stopped. turns out i knew him, so, being nice, i said, just get me a light, and well call it even.
i didnt press the other damage cause it was already there. well he didnt show when i/he said he would, i rode the bike home, light still worked, but glass was smashed and can bent on further examination. i didnt even get a scratch. now i need a light i may be able to salvage the can. when i find this ex-friend, i will  :x well... his truck may not start the next morning. i know where he parks it.

Ugh! That sucks! Too much bad luck lately (although fortunately we've all been okay). Make sure you get the guy to pay for the damage. Otherwise, report him to the cops, his employer, you name it.

yeah, one way or the other, he will pay for it :thumb:   by the way, when i read about your incident, did your husband take it okay?, when you said about turning it into the insurance, if you can avoid it dont. if you are ever so mechanically inclined, or your husband is, see if you/him can repair it. will save you in the long run. good luck to ya :thumb:
