Title: 2004 Triumph Daytona 955i
Post by: SmartDrug on April 25, 2007, 04:21:44 PM
I'm selling my 2004 Triumph Daytona 955i. She has 20,000 miles, is black with a custom paint job, Red graphics and a British flag on the front fairing. There are a few nicks and scratches on her, but she's in good shape all around. This bike is fast as holy hell, it runs a 1/4 mile in 10.4 seconds at 133 mph and power wheelies in 2nd gear with no problem, it's rated at 147 horsepower. She has carbon fiber all around, on the rear single sided swingarm, she has a hub cover, both engine covers, front airscoop intakes, rear hugger, custom undertail, brand new tires, a gel seat, the stock seat is also included as well as the passenger seat, Triumph Carbon Fiber high mount exhaust, black custom painted windscreen, heated grips, rear seat cover and many other things that I have forgotten to mention. There is a crack on the right side of the front fairing about 1 1/2 inch squared, but after being covered by a Cubs sticker she looks fine. I'm asking $6,750 obo.

As you can see from the pictures, all the mileage came from touring the United States, and were not city miles, but long distance comfortable rides.  She's a fantastic motorcycle and ordinarily I'd keep her, but I found a beautiful Ducati 998 that I just cannot pass up and the wifey says only one sportbike at a time... boo.

Ok, price dropped to $6,000 and includes the stand, new brakes, new sprocket, all that jive.  I NEED THIS BIKE GONE ASAFP, she's a big step up from the GS500e/f, but not too intimidating, I know someone out there wants to jump up to a big British bike, this one's already nicely dialed in.  KBB prices her at $7,000 and that's bone stock, this beauty comes with over $1500 in accessories.

Friggin British bikes are such a small market that they're almost impossible to sell.  Damn Japanese bikes take up such a lion's share of the market that these well made Triples fall by the wayside.  It's a damn fine bike that's quick as the dickens and loud as a banshee, she'll make a great mount for whomever buys her.

When I have money,I can't find an affordable Triumph. When I'm broke as hell, they're every where.
I love your bike and so wish I could buy it.But I am almost taped out.

I've decided that if she's not gone by September, I'm going to lower my deductible and either leave her in the ghetto with the keys in the ignition or take her off the end of Navy Pier at 170 mph with a deployable parachute on my back...  Either way would make for some funny videos.

I'd hate to see this bike stolen or parted out.Just give it to me and then file a theft report.

Ok, here's the new deal.  I have a $500 deductible, whoever pays me the most OVER $500, gets the bike.  48 hour lead time (I was on vacation), good luck contestants.

honestly i think it is the british flag that may be slowing down the sale.  i don't have anything against britain it is just i don't think i would want a bike with any flag on it.  it is a great bike and you have done some wonderful mods on it...i am sure it will sell.  btw i know you are joking about the key thing.

Wow Matt, that's really beautiful.  I'm not honestly interested in it, but I can see that you've kept great care of that car.  How long have you had her?
Title: Re: 2004 Triumph Daytona 955i
Post by: bluelespaul on August 16, 2007, 10:33:36 AM
ive had it for about 16 months. pulled her out of my great uncles ditch where she sat for abut 4 years. that still the same paint job that was on it when i got it, you cant see from the pics but its starting to bubble and crack in some spots. hopefully ill have enough $$$ this winter to get her painted and to pull the motor for a slight rebuild and painting. when i got it my dad was away in iraq flying black hawks and i sent him an email with pics and just said hey look what i got! he didnt think it was very smart for a 15 year old to try to restore a car, but hes cool with it now.

i could have sold it the day i got it home too. we pulled it off the flatbed and i got an offer for 3000$. i bought it for 1500$ so it was tempting to just make the quick 1500$ but i wanted to keep it.

That is a damn gorgeous car!!!!! :thumb:

Hey, SmartDrug,  if you still have this in a few months, I will have cash in hand.  I'm debating with putting a deposit on a street triple, but a 955 would definitely win out the battle for me.  More power and better aerodynamics, even if it's not quite as sexy.

No, serioiusly,  give me till past the christmas season and I can have cash in hand.   Hmmmm,  the ride home would certainly give me time to get familiar with the bike, it's only what, 1000 miles from chicago to south ga

If your lucky, you might even get to know the snow and ice handling capabilities of the bike given the time of year
